I make a lot of scrapbooks and travel journals. I have several bone folders that I have used for smoothing out paper I'm gluing down. But when you have a large area -- a 9-inch x 12-inch sketchbook cover, for example -- that you've applied glue and paper or want to add contact paper to, nothing beat these spreaders. They smooth out paper that has been glued down, getting rid of air bubbles or uneven application of glue. They assure that there's good contact between the decorative paper, the glue and the cover of the book. The choice of sizes makes them effective for smoothing down small things that you're decorating as well as large things like sketchbook covers. I wish I'd discovered these years ago.
