Asparagus fern is really an obnoxious weed that spreads from rhizomes, and this grass killer does not work on it. Asparagrass fern foliage looks like the edible asparagus, but it's not the same thing. This grass-killer is a " post-emergent", meaning , that when you spray on the tassels when the nasty invasive bermuda grass, or other (we have it here in Zone 10) goes to seed, it is absorbed into the grass and makes it impotent, so it can't reproduce anymore. The grass dies in 1-2 weeks, and does not spread it's seed, even after the seed tassels dry out. You or you gardener then need to pull-out the dean invasive grasses, which are obvious, after 1-2 weeks, and it has not spread it seeds everywhere if using this poison, which I target and don't over-use. **Q: can it be sprayed on a vegetable garden? i have grass growing between my beets, carrots etc. will it kill my vegetables?** A: Do NOT use in vegetable gardens.
