Why do you need fake eggs? 1.Excessive egg production can easily lead to the loss of calcium in female birds and even failure to give birth. If you want a female bird to lay fewer eggs, the easiest way is to let it hatch by itself. If the female bird lays the first egg, it will lay the second and third eggs. We need to put a fake egg every day, and the female will stop laying eggs before they are finished. Realistic fake eggs can successfully deceive the female bird, making it much less than before. 2.It can also adjust the shelling time of the eggs to keep them as consistent as possible to avoid too large differences in the body shape of the young birds and increase the difficulty of feeding.Take love birds as an example. During the breeding period, one egg is laid in about two days. Generally, 4-5 eggs are laid in a nest. The incubation period is about 20 days. The first chick hatched within two days after hatching, so that the difference between the first and fifth chicks would be about 8-10 days. The first chick with a difference of so many days is already very big in size within a few days of birth. It's easy to trample the younger brother and sister born later to death or because of starvation. We can secretly replace the false eggs with the fake eggs when laying each egg, gather together a nest, and then take out the false eggs and replace the real eggs. At the same time, let the female birds hatch, so that the birds will shell out at the same time and grow up with the same size. Review: Eggs - Bought these to replace the ones for my African gray. It worked!
She was laying 1 egg every 2 weeks. We ordered a nest and put all 5 eggs in it. She had to pick at the nest to make it more her own I suppose. I was a little nervous she was just trying to destroy the nest but She nestled up to the eggs in her nest and hasn’t laid any more eggs. It worked!

Do the job
Perfect size for my Eclectus. Hold up much better to her scratching than previous brand. Clean easily.

My Ekkie hated them.
My Eclectus wasn't going for it. She immediately tried to break, bury and get rid of them.

Did The Trick !
Was looking for something to distract our SCREAMING Cockatoo and this did the trick! It amazingly distracts him when (as this type of bird does) he gets into one of his screaming fits. Just show it to him and he QUIETLY sits on it for hours. Eventually he gets distracted from the egg and starts interacting with the environment again. We don't leave it with him permanently, that wouldn't be fair, and he'd lose interest. Just introduce it when he's having a meltdown as a short-term distraction.

Very Smart African Grey Doesn't Know The Difference
I have an African grey and she is an egg laying factory, I have tried everything from diet changes to lighting and it's just the way she is. I was really worried with her habit that she would eventually egg bind but getting these eggs not only saves her some calcium but also effort. When she goes into what I call "baby mode" I know she is gearing up to lay eggs so I place one in her nesting area and rather than her laying her usual 6- 9 eggs she has been only laying 1-2 now because I add the fakes and trick her. The only down side is they look so real you have to really inspect them to know if its the fake before tossing it lol These are a perfect thumbs up for me! I only wish I had them for the 29 years I had my Cockatiel for :)
