I teach my kids cursive first and foremost before print. It is easier to learn, more adaptable and functional for the right brain left brain transfer, provides better quality penmanship from the beginning and is proven to alleviate many stumbling blocks such as dyslexia and dysgraphia. Print / block lettering has been proven to be the most difficult and that most developing minds are unable to think, and write "block" until almost the age of 10. 7 children later and 24 yrs of hands experience has proven beyond my evidenced research, that cursive is instrumental to the developing brain and has more benefits than block lettering. So I chose these BECAUSE they provide a more cursive type of format. If a true cursive model came out it'd be widely saught after. And yes we googked every word these make and I learned a few myself!! Now if they were 100%,USA made & assembled, it'd be a show stopper hands down.

These rotating blocks are very well made. They are perfect for beginning readers to practice one- syllable words with short vowels.

I like how small and portable it is. My daughter is very interested on making new words. It keeps her engaged. We even do it on the bed before bed time and on the road. It's a perfect size too that I can throw into my purse and always have it on me, so we can strengthen her reading skills anywhere we go. Super fun and great quality!

Such a great idea for teaching phonics. Would have preferred a less cursive-looking font, and ended up sending these back and purchasing a similar item with more standard and appropriate lettering, more like what children are taught in school in the USA. However it is a great product and my grandkids love using their blocks and learning new words.

We just received these today - they were smaller than I anticipated, but very well made. I could tell a Montessori company sent these as there was so much care in the wrapping and packaging of them :) Neatly wrapped in brown paper with order information and item labeled, it was quite the delightful surprise to find this extra step put into an item I received through Amazon (most are usually just in the box without a packing slip). I unwrapped like a gift - which is what I feel it will be to our family. My 4 year old saw them and immediately wanted to start working with them. She knows her letter sounds and has figured out how to spell the word "cat" on her own. I thought these would be something to introduce this year to help her with beginning site words and rhyming. I'm really looking forward to using them!

I liked this product because as most parents and people who have children, work with them and teach them, know that children today are very cognizant of their surroundings and pick up words even though they may not know the word(s) mean. This is one of many reasons many people need to watch their words when children are near. This Reading Block is a fun item for our three year old grandson. Working with the words that he can identify with, my wife not only is teaching him the alphabet with this reading block but also helping him identify the word via his surroundings. For example, my son recently bought a floor rug for the den and our grandson immediately identified the item as a 'rug' when he brought it in the house. Connecting the word to the actual item around the home is now a fun game that our grandson likes to play.

This set is very durable, which is great for my active 3 year old boy who still throws toys around. The letters all spin easily. I like that they're lowercase letters - so many toys focus on just uppercase but it's important for little kids to play around with lowercase,too. This wasn't an Amazon Prime purchase but was shipped through Quality Montessori. Non Prime purchases always take longer than 2 days, and this one warns it can take up to 2 or 3 weeks. However, we have made 2 seperate purchases of this item and both of them were on our front porch within 5 business days. Great product!

These phonetic reading blocks are a great size for small hands. (Some of the other reviews comment on them being too small? Maybe their children have abnormally large hands?) But they are absolutely perfect for my four-year-old. She's been a challenge to work on with letters in the traditional sense, so we are working within the Montessori-style and she is FAR less frustrated using this great tool! I also had a quick question for the seller about the definition card and she got back to me immediately! Her customer-service really stuck the landing. I rarely give reviews, but I needed to make it a priority to comment on this great product.

Very disappointed! Certainly not worth the price for what it is!!!

I bought this for my three year old granddaughter who’s very interested in learning to read. I used to teach young children and wish I had these reading blocks then. They are beautifully crafted and lovely to handle. They may seem expensive but are very good value.

Really lovely little phonics toy to help your children learn phonics without feeling like they’re ‘learning’. Love it!

The parents of the child i bought it for liked it and the child will hopefully feel the same when old enough to appreciate it, and it should last long enough his younger brother to enjoy as well, as it seems to be of good quality. I was surprised at how small it was when it arrived, as it seemed bigger in the photo's, however it's not too small, just smaller than expected

Pricey but amazing product. My child had problems blending sounds so I thought I'd look for something different than paper, cards, and pencils. This did the trick, we take them to bed and practice before bedtime. My child has gotten so much better in just a week, this changed her motivation and so her effective learning. Makes a great gift.
