Update - purchased this in Aug 2021, now it is Sept 2022, and this still works, I still give it a 5 star. Happy to be able to listen to my iPhone in my 2009 car. This was quite simple to install (plug in!) and worked great from the start. Still working 1 month later. I don’t see info on tracks, my car screen only shows “aux” but I don’t need info, just the sound. Pleased with purchase.

The build is correct and t plugs into our 2013 VW Tiguan like it should. But the phone connection is terrible. Sometimes the phone is charging, other times it's draining. Many times the phone appears not connected at all. Bad quality.

Works on 2013 Touareg. On vehicle Media>Source>Aux and on iPhone change sound output from phone or bluetooth to "External Speaker" I think it says. It's not as loud on same volume setting as Bluetooth streaming. Also when there is no signal sometimes you can hear quiet static squeal that does seem to go away. It's not a bad connection- I have wiggled the plug a bit and it just decides to go away after 15 seconds or so. 3 stars for "value" because it works but I think is priced about right- not low or high. Sound quality would be 5 star but as I said about the background static squeal. My trim is TDI Executive.

I am actually shocked, I didn't expect much, but it streams my phone to my Audi stereo just fine. This was bought for a 2016 Audi A5 for reference. The Audi plug was going to cost $100, so this is a great alternative.

I have purchased two now and had hoped the first not working after 5 months was a fluke but it sadly was not. The cord has been well taken care of and always removed properly from my device every time. It is great when it works but as I stated earlier it does not last long.

This cord did not work at all. Did not charge, or play music, even though it listed my specific vehicle. As soon as was out of the package i could tell the quality was very poor, both the lightning plug and the MDI plug were flimsy. Butter off spending the extra $$ and get the real cord at a VW/Audi dealer. It was shipped and delivered quick, but that's more on the vendor, not this specific item. The return was easy, dropped it of at Whole Foods while getting sandwiches for lunch.

The dongle that came with my 2015 GTI was the typical VW/Audi piece; a short cable with this ridiculously large plug that made it difficult to either stow my phone, or access it. This cable allows you to leave your phone on the seat, or maybe even in the console, and it has a normal-size plug. BIG improvement.
