A good product at a great price!
I purchased two of these canes via Amazon, one for my son who was recovering from a serious knee injury and one for myself, because I find one helpful from time to time because I am occasionally troubled by a past injury.I was so impressed with the quality and value of the Ez2care that I immediately ordered two more for two of my friends. Here's what impressed me:1. The mechanism works smothly and securely.2. The carrying case and velcro strap provide a good way to keep the cane out of the way when it's not in use.3. The grip is quite comfortable.4. The tip is of good quality.5. My experience with it is short, but it looks as if it will hold up and give good service for a long time.6. The price is outstandingly reasonable. Here are some other comments:1. While the cane deploys easily, and does it with a flourish that would befit James Bond, it takes a fair bit of effort, dexterity, and concentration to fold it up again and get it back in its bag.2. It adjusts to accomodate the user's height, but I have mine at its maximum length, and I'm only 5ft. 10in. A taller person might not be able to extend it to the optimal length.3. The instructions that came with the cane tell you to use the cane on the same side of the body as your injured extremity. My physical therapist told me the opposite. I'll follow her advice. That seems to work better for me.Bottom line: The Ez2care Cane is a good value! I quickly became a repeat customer.

Perfect Folding Cane
Ez2care Adjustable Folding Cane with Carrying Case, Black My wife got this nice-looking cane from Comfytopia. This is her first cane, and she doesn't need it all the time. She got the folding one so that she could keep it with her for when she does need it. Even though the cane folds up small enough to fit in her purse, it is sturdy, and she feels secure putting her weight on it. All the pieces of the cane fit inside each other and then they lock down with a screw fitting collar at the top. The cane fits in it's own pouch, which is also very nice, by the way. Other canes she looked at only had holsters. The pouch is nice enough to carry by itself if you are a man and don't carry a purse. The pouch also keeps the cane out of the way so people don't trip over it, and it never gets left behind. We're going to take it with us on a cruise, so it will get a workout on the 900 foot ship. Finally, the cane adjusts to a low height for my wife, who is only 5'1'. All in all, it is the perfect cane for her, and we enjoyed the quick service we got from Comfytopia.

Well-made folding cane
I injured my knee, and although it's getting better I still have times when I feel unsteady and appreciate the help of a cane at times. I only need a cane once in a while, but I can't be sure when. I did have a 2-part cane that slid together, so I would take that with me in my backpack...it looked like I had a poorly concealed sawed-off shotgun. This cane is well made, slimmer (3/4" shaft rather than the 1" that my other one was, and folds down to three 9" segments and one longer one with the handle. The segment with the handle is about 11 inches long and the handle is about 5 inches across. It fits very nicely in my backpack, secured with the included nylon and Velcro strap, and I always know its there if my knee starts acting up. That gives me a nice feeling of security, is not a hassle to keep with me, is not heavy, and is very well made. It has two bungee chords running through the center of the shaft, which serve to keep the cane together. Assembly is as easy as straightening the pieces and sliding one into the other. The pieces overlap by 1 3/4", which is plenty for stability. There is a plastic ring at the end of each segment which prevents the segments from getting stuck together when you want to take it apart, and also prevents any scraping when the segments are together. Because of it's shape, the handle is much more comfortable than the "candy-cane" type or even the flat top canes. It's about half the cost of the sawed-off-shotgun type at the local drug store. I like things simple and classy, rather than flashy, and this fits the bill. One person even said the cane makes me look "distinguished." (Yeah, like a top hat on a wart hog.) I'm very pleased with my purchase...this little gem is everything I hoped it would be.

Good value
I am recovering from lumbar surgery and currently need some extra support when walking. I purchased this cane to have something more compact and stylish than the plainly utilitarian shiny aluminum adjustable (but not foldable) cane we've had around here for years. This one was less expensive than several others and received pretty good reviews, so I took a chance on it. We just returned from a two week Danube river cruise that included quite a few walking tours which gave it a real workout.First off, this is exactly as represented: a fairly sturdy walking cane, composed of four sections of aluminum tubing, that folds up compactly for carrying or storage when not in use. An elastic cord running the length of the interior keeps all the parts together when the cane sections are separated, similar to the system used for many backpacking tent poles. A hook-and-loop strip can be used to tie the folded sections together to keep it compact. I often would fold it into two or three sections to make it easier to deal with while seated and I have not suffered the cord separation a few others have reported.Due to its construction with the tapered top of each section fitting into the untapered bottom of the section above it, there is no danger of the sections coming apart or buckling when weight is applied. In fact applying weight just makes each joint tighter and more secure. There is a little give in some of the joints, but the cane is it far from wobbly and easily provides the support I need for my 250+ lb frame. The length adjustment is all contained in the top section, which telescopes in 1" increments. As I have an unusually long torso, I'd like it better if it would go 1" longer than its 37" maximum, but this seems to fit in with the standard length of most adjustable canes I've found. For maximum stability, be sure to securely tighten the threaded collar at the bottom of the adjustable section once you've set it to your chosen length. The cane must be set at its minimum length, or near to it, to fit into the carrying bag. This is not a big issue for me, as I seldom have need to store it in the bag, but this could be an issue for users who adjust to something longer than the minimum length and wish use the bag for frequent storage in a purse or other tote, as they would have to readjust the height every time they put it in or out of the bag.The top of each of the bottom three sections is fitted with a polymeric grommet through which the elastic cord passes. After only a few uses, the grommet on the bottom section separated and became stuck inside the mating tube of the section above it. That has made this joint very hard to separate when wanting to fold the cane. With the extensive use given on our cruise the last couple of weeks, the same thing has happened in the other sections, but they are still coming apart fairly easily. The contoured handle fits my hand well and remained comfortable even over some extensive walking tours of several mile duration over cobblestones and steps. The black paint HAS gotten a bit dinged up revealing a lighter color underneath, but it is easily touched up with a black permanent marker. All in all, I am quite pleased with this cane. I deducted one star due to the need to readjust the length to use the storage bag, and for the grommets coming loose.

Great cane for dealing with injuries
I bought this cane over a year ago after having sustained an awful sprained ankle. I absolutely despise crutches, so once I was able to put some weight on my ankle, a cane seemed like a good idea. Being 33, I did worry that I might look strange with a cane, but I quickly got over that. This is a dead useful item to have. First, it seems extremely sturdy. I'm short (5'4"), but very stocky, and I have never felt like this cane wouldn't support me. I've dropped it several times and chipped the wooden handle, but other than that, it holds up fine. Second, the folding feature is great. I can fold it and put it in my purse or backpack. Third,I love that it assembles itself. All you do is pick up the handle and the cane unfolds itself and locks together. Its great when you're getting out of your car or have something in your other hand.I've used this cane on an off for the last year dealing with various injuries (partially torn calf and torn meniscus in the knee). I'm about to have knee surgery and as soon as I'm off crutches, I'll be using this cane again. I can't recommend it enough for someone who is injury-prone and hates dealing with crutches.

My first cane purchase.
A little too tall for me at 5ft to 5ft 1in. Perfect with most of my footwear due to adjustable height. I wear DC skate shoes, combat boots, Birkenstocks, etc. Most of my shoes add about 1.5 to 2 inches.I am of muscular build and weigh roughly 150lbs. My legs are short but have a longish reach. I find this cane very good for supporting me through sudden dizzy spells on indoor hardwood linoleum and carpet, and on lightly frosted cement with good shoes on.My fiance is going to remove about 3 inches from this cane for me, as per the recommendation of some reviews here. I will update this review at a later date. If you are short this cane will more than likely require some sizing for comfortable use. I'd say if you're taller than 5ft 4in you should be fine.I am young and have started needing a cane for regular daily use, and find the metallic grey a very subtle but professional color. The handle style of metallic gray is a Fritz and it it's extremely comfortable to hold. I've taken my dogs on several neighborhood walks without hand fatigue.UPDATE: I have received the Rose version of this cane that I ordered at the same time as the metallic grey. It is lighter in weight than the metallic grey and has a derby handle rather than a fritz handle. The pattern seems to be printed on and laquered over. I'm not sure of the durability, but it is very cute in person.... ... ...For the price at time of purchase I have nothing to complain about. Should it remain steady I see myself buying another in the future.

I like the longer overlap in the joints.
I bought this for my wife for occasional travel. My goal was to get as sturdy a unit as I could without it being excessively heavy, bulky, or costing a fortune. The last thing one needs is to have a cane buckle sideways when a heavy force is applied to it, and the person is relying on it to keep them upright. The price for this unit was in the lower range, and the tubing thickness was as good as others and better than some. While I have not done any testing, from an engineering standpoint I would expect the weak point of these collapsible designs, relative to potential sideways buckling, to be in the joints. Screwed connections can be quite strong if properly done, but this depends on how they are designed and how well they are assembled. Canes with screwed joints seem to be heavier, tend to be more expensive, and are a bit more intricate to assemble. For light canes with overlap joints, tubing diameter and thickness being equal, I would expect the most important remaining factor in determining joint resistance to buckling to be the length of the joint itself, the amount by which the outer tube overlaps the inner tube. If one looks at the pictures closely, one will see that the joints in this particular cane overlap more than others that I found. I believe this provides an extra margin of strength, and it is the reason I ordered this particular cane. The good news is that we just completed a 2 week trip, and my wife used the cane and loved it. It is light in weight, reassuringly sturdy, and easy to fold and unfold. It also attracted a fair bit of interest from other members of the group. Good Job!

Paint immediately started peeling off handle and it rattles.
I just received this cane. Immediately upon taking it out of the little bag and opening it up, which was very easy, within a minute or so the paint on the handle started peeling off around the gold ring. I tried using it to walk, and I heard a little metal on metal rattle. Upon examining it, I found it was the area with the buttons for adjusting the height. I adjusted it to the 2nd hole, just to see if it would stop the slight rattling, and altho it was easy to adjust the button, it continued to rattle even after I tightened the adjustment ring. I am not sure whether or not the rattling is a sign that it is not sturdy and could break with use. Because of the rattle and the paint coming off the handle, I am giving it 3 stars. I can't say how durable it will be. It seems fairly sturdy considering the fact that it is in pieces. It does snap open very easily and is rather easy to close up again. The little carrying case is nice, as is the strap around the handle so you could put that around your wrist to prevent dropping the cane. I have seen more expensive folding canes that do not rattle and that have a better quality paint job on the handle. I think the paint on this one will continue to peel off until it is unsightly. I will think about keeping it. I mostly need it for balance not support at this stage and it was inexpensive. I am 5' 8" tall, and the height seems fine for me. I will give an update after I have considered everything.
