Excellent for the price
Hot– Heats up quick. From room temperature to scalding in about 10 minutes. A ‘how hot?’ temperature dial would be preferred. [Perhaps for the next-level-up version, rather than this: the basic model?] As default-set, I need to wait 10 minutes for my tea to cool enough to drink. Using a kettle, I do not let it get that hot: do not want to burn my tea-leaves. Cold– Yeah, it is cold. But, I don't like cold water. So I never turn on Cold, unless I am expecting guests who might prefer that. [Which I then shut everything off again when they've gone.] Perhaps it is a bit too cold? Perhaps a ‘how cold?’ dial would be pertinent, for the next-level-up version? Again, I am not expecting perfection/exceptional at the cost of ‘cheapest available.’ Temperature Conflict– All the internal tanks are interconnected within the fountain. [They all drain into Cold: but perhaps that's just the slope of my floor dripping it that direction, when powered off?] So, if Hot is left on long enough (3+ hours), the heat starts seeping over into Cool and Cold. Hot left always-on requires Cold to then be always-on too: lest you want your Cool to be warm, and your Cold to be tepid. [Leave it to engineers to expect end-users to turn (and leave) everything on, as the only way for it to work ‘properly.’] So then I must question whether that means Hot and Cold are constantly fighting over temperature, the battleground being within Cool, wasting how much electricity? Noise– I keep the entire thing Powered Off most of the time, preferring my drinking water at room temperature. I have the fountain wired to a switch, turn it on only when the water is running low, to prevent hearing the pump run every time I get a drink. It is not terribly loud, but unnecessary to hear. As it stands, given the volume of water the internal tanks store, I only need to power on the pump every third day or so for my drinking water. [Takes 90-120 seconds to refill.] If left on, there's always a high-pitched ‘eeeee’ noise. I suspect that would be the pump keeping itself primed. In a busy house or office nobody would hear it, but here alone in the woods, where one can hear everything, the sound grates on the nerves. Potential Problem– This fountain keeps pumping nothing, does not auto-shut-off, when the water-bottle runs out. The longest I left it ‘huffing air’ was 20 minutes, just to see if it would stop, as I didn't want to burn out the motor. So, what happens if you get a drink on the way out the door in the morning and thereby it runs out of water? Will it keep pumping nothing all day? I suspect that would kill it. Overall– Excellent. Looks classy. Works well for what it was designed. Five Stars. Would buy again, recommend to others.

RELIABLE! FUNCTIONALITY IS PERFECT FOR 5 Years GOING STRONG!
I realize there are like a "million" reviews for this, but I had to let everyone know I have had this since AVALON Bottom loading Water Cooler since 2020!!!! It is STILL functioning perfectly well! I do not leave the cold nor hot switches in the rear of the unit on , I only turn them on when I need to. The water stays HOT at 150 degrees for at least 4 hours (maybe longer, I stopped checking after 4) and it stay COLD for about 3-4 hours!!!!! So there’s no need to leave the switches on all day! I LOOOVE that about this AVALON water dispenser! ❤️ This has helped my unit last this long. It cools down water within 2 -7 minutes to very, very cold, and heats up in about the same time frame. This is a huge space saver because I don't have to have my kettle out on the counter anymore for quick hot water. noor do I want to use my microwave oven for heating water--or or that matter, anything. Not a fan of microwaves that suck nutrients out of water and food . I have had ZERO leakgae, zero issues with my unit. I love this thing so much, i got the black one. donot place or store heavy items on top of it either. (Like cookbooks, etc) This would be a handy item in a home workshed or garage too for when the kkids are thrsty from playing outdoors (or do munchkins even play outside anymore in 20205 with IG and TT LOL?) ! Super easy to clean, I am so happy i found this in 2020. I live in CA and barely can survive here (COL) so I don't have a fancy rich people stainless steel refrigerator LOL with a water spigot. My back doesn't ache from doing it the Year 2000 way either where I would have to lift a 5 gallon jug up high to then pour my waer into the ceramic jug. Those days are gone, thanks to AVALON yay! ONE HUNDRED PERCENT HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Work well but thermostat stopped working.
Edit: The manufacturer contacted me and offered to replace the water dispenser at no cost. It promptly arrive in excellent condition. The dispenser works well, including hot and cold water. Perhaps the one I had had a fluke and this one will last a lot longer. Overall, great customer service and I believe they will do right if their product doesn’t work as expected. The unit's thermostat stopped working, and the water tank has continued to freeze almost two years after purchase. Conveniently, the manufacturer only offers a one-year warranty. This means we can only use hot and regular temperature water. Thankfully, the unit has a switch to turn off the cold water, but it's disappointing that we can't use the cold water; otherwise, it would freeze the tank, and the unit wouldn't dispense any water. They responded quickly to my inquiries but could only offer a $15 thermostat replacement for me to install myself or a 15% discount on a new unit. I have not yet decided whether to buy the replacement thermostat and install it myself or accept the idea that it won't dispense cold water. I am certain I do not want to buy a second one because I am afraid it will break again.

Nice product!
Four stars was given because it only lasted 2 years before it broke down- the cold water dispenser stopped working out of the blue. I purchased a second one because of the reasonable price, and it worked well for the 2 years that we had it. However, if it breaks down again, I most likely will NOT buy another one. Easy to install, temperatures are as expected, and it isn’t too noisy when cooling the water when it’s not in use.

bottom loaders are a game-changer
Awesome Water Cooler. We don't use the hot or cold settings and leave them off, so we can't speak on that, but we've had exactly zero issues in the approximately 4 months we've had it. MUCH easier than any top loading machine, holds our 4-gallon bottles fine and makes the weekly refill easy. Sometimes wish the space between the dispensing shelf and the spout was a little longer- it can sometimes be a pain for REALLY large water bottles, but the dispensing shelf holds a regular 28oz just fine and otherwise great. Found ourselves with a MUCH higher water intake and much more room in our recycling bins. Now we only buy bottles to hand off to our delivery drivers!

Why did I wait so long to get one of these for my home!!! ONE WARNING THOUGH!!!
I have a fridge that can do filters, but I wanted to get large bottles of reverse osmosis water with that fresh crisp clean taste and never have to worry about changing filters etc. This unit at the room temperature button has the water I think cooler than the room. With the cold setting, it keeps the water VERY cold! Same with the hot setting, the water will come out VERY hot (may be very close to it could burn you). I do not use the hot setting, but you could use it to make hot tea and steep it very easy, it gets that hot. I love you can turn the cold or hot setting off, so it does not use energy to heat or chill the water. It keeps a good deal in the tank inside, but pumps to fill it every time you get water. But, if you run the bottle dry, you will have a gallon or more left inside the tank. The only thing I WARN you about, is the back drain plug, when I got mine, it had a pin size hole and leaked but so slow I did not know that and days later because I had it on a door mat in the Kitchen, it had water under the mat and caused damage to my tile floor. The tiles are now lose there, and it was fine the prior 15 years. I now have this over a water proof silicone drying mat I got on Amazon, so if it leaks again I can see it before it piles up and it will not get on the floor. The size I got is (Amazon ASIN B0BNMWTXMH) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0BNMWTXMH 16"x12" and it fits just right. The plug had a pin hole sized hole in the center of it, but I did not see it and it leaked very slow. I fixed it buy putting plastic wrap over it all and then found a iron plumbing end cap at the hardware store than I screwed on over it. It has held up and not leaked for months since then. But, be sure when you get this, that you look at the back for days for any small drops of water. If it leaks slow, you will not notice right away, but then one day you have water damage on the floor under it.

Lasted 2 great years then broke!
In short: it worked very well until it didn’t. This water cooler lasted us 2 years before it unfortunately broke on us. For the 2 years we had it, it worked very well! The cold dispenser is a perfect temperature and the cool dispenser is great too. We never used the hot one so we had it turned off always. The dispenser pumped a consistent water flow. One negative would be that it is a little loud if it’s in an area someone is sleeping in. It pulls the water to cool it and makes a very obvious noise while cooling. I still think it worked very well and was worth the money for the time being. However, it did break 2 years later, as the thermometer seems to be malfunctioning and the cold setting is freezing the water and blocking the ability to pour cold water. We unplug it everyday to defrost, then we have a few good hours to pull cold water again, then it freezes again. I haven’t reached out to the company yet to see if we can replace the thermometer - but I will attempt to.

Defective on arrival
Water doesn't cool, only hot and room. Hot is very hot which is great. Sent it for repairs and was told it's a compressor issue which is another AED 650 all in all. Really nice water cooler, sad that it doesn't actually cool water.

Would buy again.
This works well, the hot is hot, the cold is cold, and the bottom loading aspect is perfect 👌 I did notice it was fairly noisy when cooling (i was expecting that based on other reviews mentioning it made some noise) but in a matter of minutes I was able to find the source of the rattling sound and was able to stop it with a piece of the packing material from inside the coolers shipping box. The cold water reservoir is wrapped in Styrofoam (as expected) and when the cooling motor was running there was a slight vibration of the reservoir which caused the Styrofoam to rub ever so gently on the chassis. So, with the 'top' panel removed i placed a 1/4 inch thickness of the blue foam from the packing box right on top of the Styrofoam reservoir housing and put the top back on. It required a bit of pressure to reclose the top, but that tiny bit of pressure was just enough to prevent the reservoir from moving during cooling and completely eliminated the vibrating noise... No complaints, the only time I 'know' its running now is when it makes a tiny click when the heating or cooling cycle starts... its quieter than my fridge or deep freeze by a long shot. Would buy again!

Attenzione
In conclusione, merce rotta. Meno il prezzo. Meno 250€ per la spedizione. Finalmente l'ho inserito. Ha funzionato per due giorni. Ed è esploso. Fate attenzione quando acquistate questo prodotto per l'Europa. Non lo consiglio!
