Perfect!
How many of us can claim not being guilty of lying in bed with a notebook computer on our stomach until what had seemed light and comfortable just a few minutes prior suddenly begins to feel like a heavy, hot rock? Besides the pain in the gut, the injury inflicted upon your computer is, according to the experts, guaranteed to send the machine into panic mode not to mention invite costly repairs. Putting a pillow or lap desk between you and the computer alleviates the pressure--but not for long. With the foregoing considerations in mind (along with some derogatory, caricaturing comments from family members as well as a lecture from a computer repair person), I began the search on Amazon for an alternative. Fortunately, I came upon this "My Place" table, which frankly leaves nothing to be desired (except for the unreadable but gratuitous sheet of instructions). It's a unibody design, made of light, solid plastic (with naturally "textured" surfaces), that folds and unfolds in an instant. The computer base elevates to 10 different levels, and the bottom lip holds your machine securely in place regardless of the archness of the angle. Even without the unexpected "bonuses"--a gooseneck directional bright light (making up for the backlit keyboard I've always wanted) and a roomy, level area for using a mouse--this item would be welcome at the price.Fortunately, even I could figure out how to use this device without reference to the instructions--though it wasn't until I looked at the picture on the box cover that I realized the legs are adjustable to two heights (another bonus). The only cause for pause is postage costs, since the item isn't sold through Amazon Prime, and I see that rates have doubled in just the past week. But what's to prevent them from doing the same by this time next week?

Very Flimsy
I purchased this item because of it's good overall reviews and the price was decent. When I took it out of the box I noticed that the whole thing is made out of plastic. In giving it the benefit of the doubt, I extended the legs and tilted the laptop base (which only has a one-sided hinge, made out of plastic, and really flimsy). I placed my 16.5" laptop on the tray and it slid right off onto the bed (thank God). I tried it again making sure I had the laptop base behind the "ledge" so it would stay. Evidently, the "ledge" wasn't tall enough, because my computer slid off again. Pretty frustrated by now, I placed a microfiber towel underneath so it would keep the computer from sliding (that helped). When I set up my mouse, and being right handed, it worked out great because there is only one choice in mouse placement...on the right side...FAIL. To make a long story short, I decided to return it and look for another, more sturdy tray, and I'm willing to pay an extra 10-20 bucks to get a better one.

good value for Money
It took about 5 days to for the item to arrive. Tha table is good for my use. AFter reading other reviews, it seems the sturdyness of table was an issue with most. This item seems to be pretty strong enough to handle the weight of laptop and books that i use it for.It has sections, both of which can be inclined individually. THe left for laptop hasrasied edge to stop book or paper falling off towards you, and has groves along its length to give good grip to laptop and the section is about 13.5 inch. The right section is about 7 and half inch with soft surface for mouse. it also has a storage space underneath the right section that is 8 inch long, 3 inch wide and abouyt an inch deep. THe table is little more than 12 inch wide and about 21 inch long. the legs are foldable at two places. each fold gives you about8 inch of height ( which is good enough for me) but can be doubled with another fold opened. The light on the left is sufficient for small time reading. it has three white LEDs and needs three AAA batteries. the arm is not that good enough and thus its difficult to position it in required angle( it keeps falling back to its original position along tabnle surface). DOnt know how long will they last. Overall, i expect the table to last long enough. Its light in weight, practical, and worth the money.
