Very nice product and easy to use
Excellent product. At 98 my mom broke her forearm and found it very difficult sitting down and getting up. Found this on Amazon, ordered it; it arrived next day. Opened box, installed it in about 4 minutes including tightening one wing nut to hold it on the bowl. If it’s awkward for anyone else it can be easily removed and reinstalled. Easy to clean - just use toilet-scrubbing brush and squirt-on cleaner. No need to scrub too hard. Very budget-friendly. Would not hesitate to buy this for anyone who needed it. My mom is fine BTW. She’s 99 now 😎

Best design, best value.
This model for a raised toilet seat is first rate. Very easy to assemble, very secure and solid. Not only for Seniors but anyone who has knee or hip issues would benefit. Best part is that the original toilet seat sits securely on top. The handles can be removed if not required.

Great seat, but I found it hard to get off thr toilet to clean the bottom of it.
I broke my hip the first of August. When I was in rehab they suggested this seat. It brought my toilet seat to 19”, I am 5’10”, was a good height for me. The rails on the side worked great for me I have plenty of room when using it, I weigh about 120#. I really didn’t like the fact it didn’t have a lid, I have a small bathroom and was afraid I might drop something in the pot. The top is easy to keep clean, but I am 84 and someone was always tightening the knob on front, I couldn’t loosen it to clean the bottom, but I got it off today and the bottom was absolutely disgusting. It had been about 2 or 3 weeks since I cleaned it. It was not easy to clean. I suggest wiping it down daily top and bottom. I took off one star because of how hard it was to loosen it to get the seat off of the toilet to clean I thought about taking off two stars. Works great, is not easy to clean the bottom of the seat.

lifesaver after surgery
This raised toilet seat was a total lifesaver after hip replacement surgery, I only wish I had gotten it sooner (before surgery) as I was in such extreme pain just getting up and down from the toilet! This is truly a must-have, makes it so much easier and less pressure on the affected joint(s). The bonus is that the seat itself is extremely comfortable almost like it cradles your legs softly. The arms make it easy to get up and down as well, just be cautious to put equal weight on both arms or the seat may tip to one side. There is a locking mechanism to hold it down, but I could not get mine to lock in place, and that may be because of arthritis keeping me from dialing the lock all the way around. But as long as you lift up evenly it's not going anywhere.

Too high installed on a comfort height toilet - I'm 5'4" and it's Edith Ann height for me
This 3 star review just pertains to my specific situation, but here goes: I am a 5'4", 135 lb, female who just had a hip replacement. Our current toilets are all "comfort height" (~17"h) but it was recommended that I get a raised toilet seat with handle assists to help during my recovery. I bought this based on the ease of installation and the Drive reputation. We'd already had the need to purchase assist products for our parents in the past, and the Drive brand was always very reputable and of great quality. The quality of this is of true Drive standards. Strong, sturdy, well made and very easy to install. What didn't work though, is that adding 5 inches of height to our 17" high comfort height toilets means that my feet don't even touch the floor. This raised seat adds too much height which was even more painful for my new hip, than sitting on just the toilet without it. Truly, I felt like Edith Ann (if you're of a certain age, you know what I'm talking about) with my feet swinging off the floor. In addition, it's not clear in the photos, but the opening of this riser is quite a bit smaller than the full opening of the toilet without it. The seat part is very bulbous and that cuts down on the opening size by quite a bit. At the risk of TMI, a normal seat sort of cradles your behind, but because the seat area of this one is much larger, it feels like you're just sitting on a hard plastic seat. Ours is an elongated toilet and the opening that this riser has is even smaller than a round toilet opening. We also have a hand held bidet spray connected to our toilet and this smaller opening would not be conducive to using the spray either. The last thing to mention is that the look of this (even tho it's not meant to be a permanent seat) is very "institutional". It just looks like a seat that a care/rehab facility would have on their toilets. I will shop for another riser in the 3" inch height range. Hoping to find one that is just as easy to install with assist handles too. If your toilet is lower and not already of comfort height, then this may work for you. If you're in the 6' +/- height range, then this might also work for you. Unfortunately, it did not work for me. * * update: check this one out. This is the one I decided on. It's a 3" riser, looks and feels like a regular seat, and is just as easy to install. A bit more expensive, and without handrail assists, but completely worth the extra cost. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0C65N2786?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title&th=1

Happy Customer
I purchased this raised toilet seat for use after knee replacement, but it has earned a permanent spot in my bathroom. It was absolutely helpful during my recovery, especially with the arms on the side. (My bathroom is quite small, and there is no space to add a grab bar.) I soon came to realize this seat is considerably more comfortable than a standard toilet seat, especially if you have to sit there for an extended period of time. It's wider, providing more support for your thighs, and the bars are spaced far enough apart to accommodate my wide load. Of course, the added height makes it easier to stand up from, even if you aren't using the arms. It fits securely into the toilet bowl and is easy to keep clean. I can't think of one negative thing to say about it! It's staying!

Sturdy
Didn’t actually fit our toilet but we were able to still use. It helped my husband after knee surgery.

If you are short like me 5 foot, it works but my feet don't lay flat on the ground, the 5 inches is a bit more than what I would like, but it works.

The handles are an added bonus enabling one to push oneself off the throne when there is nothing close by to grab. Suitable especially for a bulkier person.

Luego de una cirugía de cadera, este accesorio para el baño fue de muchísima utilidad. Se ajusta perfecto al mueble de baño y, además, tiene dos asas que ayudan al paciente a sentarse y/o ponerse de pie. Gran compra!

Did not fit the toilet properly so was unsafe to use. I could not send back so went in the bin.
