Fantasea Natural Bristle Body Brush

I got this to help me feel cleaner during covid so that I could feel well-scrubbed-down after my showers after being out in the world. This little body brush is AMAZING and a fantastic value (it was about $4 when I got it, I think it might be cheaper now). The bristles are just the right kind of tough/rough to suds up soap and leave you feeling extra squeaky clean, and are dense enough that I feel like they're actually doing a great job. Very good for buffing body parts, though it's a little more rough than what some people might be comfortable using on their face. Strap is a good size for most hands. I've used this brush nearly daily for nearly 5 months and it's still holding up very well.

I was skeptical at first, I've had many wooden brushes not hold well in the past, but the awesome reviews got me to try this one out. First of all, the craftsmanship is great, there's a rubbery base between the bristles and the wood that protects the bristles and blocks out water to keep the wood damage- free. The brush itself is perfect for body brushing. The bristles aren't too stiff or too soft, providing great exfoliation without too much irritation. I use the brush before I shower on dry skin to remove dead skin cells, increase blood circulation, and battle against cellulite. So far it's done great! My boyfriend even commented that my skin looked and felt very smooth. Highly recommend!

I practically refuse to use anything but a good brush for my skin. Brushing the skin seems to have far more benefits than just sloughing off dead skins cells. And it makes my skin feel better. I notice a definite difference when I'm using the brush versus a rag or sponge. Or my hands. I have sensitive skin. Always have. Other brushes I tried were just too rough and the bristles never softened. I want to exfoliate and strengthen my skin. Not torture it. But this brush has never irritated my skin. I do far more damage by scratching an itchy spot with my fingers. At first, it can be a bit uncomfortable while the skin adjusts. But mine adjusted to this very quickly. It is strongly made. After months of use, mine has not lost any bristles. The wood hasn't cracked in any way, shape or form, and the strong canvas cloth handle is still as firmly attached and functional as it was straight out of the box.

I am new to dry brushing and I have had a great experience with this product so far. I use it in the morning to detox the lymph system and even if it has a placebo effect, I feel it gives me added energy throughout the day and feels great once I do it. To use it, apply moderate to firm pressure on the brush and use long brushing strokes along the body to your body's natural watersheds---where the lymph flows. The watersheds that I use are the horizontal watershed across the armpits, the horizontal line along the bottom of the rib cage, and along the thumb towards the armpit/collarbone. The bristles on this brush are firm, yet not painful, and the bristles have all stayed in place since using it for over a month. It has a nice feel in the hand to apply effective pressure, and the cloth handle helps keep it in place while using it. The handle is not elastic, however, so it does not stretch for those looking for that feature. It measures approximately 5 inches x 2 1/2 inches and I feel not having a long handle helps me use it in various positions and angles without it being cumbersome. I'd recommend this purchase.

I cut the cotton strap off right away since cotton holds water long enough to smell bad over time, in my experience. Without the strap (which stretches to be too long to be much good anyway), it's a decent little brush that's somewhat hard to hold because of its oval shape (rectangular fits hands much better). And it's pretty thin--a thicker wood handle would be easier to hold. The bristles feel good--stiff enough for legs and feet. Too stiff for my chest, but if it was soft enough for that it would be too soft for my legs. They've stayed in the handle. Overall, just okay. I bought a rectangular one to use instead because it's much easier to hold onto than this slick, oval one.

I love this dry brush and brushed like it. I know the quality of this particular brush is not one that you are going to save forever, but these products are not made that way. You can keep them washed, clean, dry and still they will fall apart because they are made with natural fibers and materials that wear. I started dry brushing several years ago when I lived in a high desert climate and had very dry skin. I would dry brush my skin starting with the extremities working my way towards my heart (that's what all the videos and blogs said to do :) and then pay extra attention to super dry areas like knees and elbows and area(s) with cellulite (eek!) then I would either shower then apply lotion or directly apply lotion if electing not to shower at that time. I found this help my skin to exfoliate at a natural rate and absorb lotion, leaving my skin softer and helping me shave my legs better and my waxes to be more effective.

I purchased this brush for dry brushing my problem areas around my hips and buttocks in hopes of reducing the appearance of cellulite. I have extremely sensitive skin and was worried that dry brushing would be extremely irritating. I do only long, upwards strokes with the brush towards the heart using moderate pressure. The sensation is neither good nor bad, it's extremely tolerable. After brushing I shower, exfoliating a little bit more with a loofah and then use a hydrating body lotion. I'm not sure if it has worked particularly well for reducing cellulite, but since starting dry brushing my skin feels extremely soft. I use this daily on my buttocks, belly, and the back of my arms where I've always had very small bumps that you can't really see but feel like dry skin. The bumps have been greatly reduced and my skin feels soft, smooth, amazing.

I've gone through a number of scrub brushes - with and without handles, different materials, etc. So far, this has been my favorite. The cloth/fiber strap prevents slippage and the shape is comfortable for my hand - two problems with my previous favorite from Body Shop. The bristles give a vigorous exfoliation without tearing up my skin, but this could maybe be a bit much for someone with really sensitive skin. After about 6 months, I have had no mold growth, no wood cracks, or bristles shedding. The one minor issue was a bit of plastic base chipped off when I dropped it, but otherwise great!
