It's a pepper mill. Nothing more, nothing less. It doesn't produce SUPER rough crack, at its coarsest it's still a medium grind, so if you need rough cracked pepper for something like steak au poivre, a mortar & pestle is still your #1 bet. But it spits out pepper like a madman and the grind is VERY consistent, it doesn't get bound up or struggle to bring peppercorns down into the teeth, the fit and finish is good (not perfect, but this isn't asking much money) and it does exactly what it needs to - grind pepper quickly and consistently. the action is very smooth and pleasant to use, too.

This pepper grinder uses ceramic grinding jaws versus cheaper plastic teeth that break or wear out over time, and the wood body of it is pretty nice. Easy to disassemble, easy to fill, consistent grind, looks great. Downside is that the grind is not adjustable (at least that I have seen anyway). Not necessarily a bad thing since I prefer a coarser grind which this does flawlessly, but if you are looking for something that can go from really fine to really coarse, this is not the grinder for you.

Aesthetically pleasing, would work well next to any stovetop or on any table. Easy to use and creates a pretty fine powder. My two complaints, and the only reason this didn't get 5 stars, we're getting size adjustability and capacity. I probably have to refill this thing every couple of weeks and I can't get quite as coarse of a grind as I'd like for some applications. Overall, a very quality product.

It grinds peppercorns very well, which is obviously what I was looking for. The packaging was very minimal, just the box and bubble wrap, no instructions. I don't know if that's normal or not. You can pretty much figure out how to make it work by looking at it, though. The quality of it feels good, I like the wood more than I would have liked something metal or plastic. When I first tried turning it, it made an unpleasant squeaky/screechy noise--turning the knob on top tighter fixed that. Would have been better with a quick 1 page instruction but really just play around with it.

Looks good and works great. Feels well built and holds adjustment well.

Perfect. I didn't want battery powered, Easy to fill and refill. Easy to use, even when my arthritis is flaring up. This was priced right and not made of plastic so it won't melt near a hot burner, etc. My other one shriveled up like a shrinky dink while I was baking casserole. Love it. Love the price.

I use this multiple times daily and have had it over a month now. It is holding up nicely. I can't adjust the size of the pepper as with others, but it comes out more on the fine side, not real coarse. Good quality for the price. Update: After two months, using it multiple times 5 days per week, it quit working. I took it apart and it is plastic on the inside. Not sure if it can be replaced or not.

We love it! Great quality and perfect size., Not too big and not too small. The color is perfect too, not too dark for our decor and too light, it's like an oak color and it matches all the wood trim and cabinets in the house. Easy to fill and adjust to grind course, med, or fine. We are all very pleased! Best value for a professional looking mil

Very happy with the purchase. For 22 canadien shipped, I got a good looking mill with ceramic mechanism. Finish is fine. I have never encountered that kind of wood before. Not hard wood but better then poplar tree or spruce. I use it every day
