I just now installed mine and I have a word of warning. In retrospect (live & learn) I would buy my own anchors for this unit. The anchors supplied do NOT have the collar around the end that stops them from sliding into your wall! You need a 1/4 inch drill to drill a snug hole for the anchors. Tap them in with a hammer till flush and you'd think that they will remain there. They do not. I have basic sheetrock walls on a house built 20 yrs ago, so nothing odd or special. My first anchor slid into the hole and out the other side (into the wall) even though it was very snugly fit. I realized then that the trick would be to screw in the remaining 5 screws very very gently. I screwed them in with almost zero pressure until I could feel that they had gripped the plastic anchor. Now, since you have 6 holes drilled with anchors (I only had 5), you should leave each individual screw loosly engaged until you have gotten all the screws engaged. This way if you're off by a bit on your drilled holes, you can still get all screws to seat. Ok, so I got all screws engaged then proceeded to oh, so gently turn them, in an attempt to get them engaged enough to spread the anchors and then be firmly/tightly in place. No such luck. The remaining 5 screw/anchor combos have somewhat tightened. I would say about 50-75% of what they should be. If I try to wiggle the unit, it does not wiggle, but on one screw, I can twirl my screwdriver between thumb and 1st finger and the entire screw/anchor unit twirls. The others also just twirl although the screws are all the way in touching the plastic of the unit. Now, the mechanism that grips a broom handle is very tight. It is so tight that sometimes I have to push it up with my thumb to get the handle in. That would be fine, since things tend to loosen over time, and I would expect this to become easier as it's used. However, in this instance it's probably a major failing, since the unit is not tightly and firmly held onto the wall. It's snug, yes, but over the next 6 months, I expect this unit to get looser and looser till one day when pushing or pulling a broom it is going to come out completely. Hopefully it won't damage my wall so I can put some 'real' anchors in to hold it better. **Q: Are there hooks to hang dustpan, etc?** A: I'm ashamed to admit that I haven't put mine up yet!! We moved into a condominium and have too much stuff so I've been busy with that. The box states that it has "2 pull-out hooks for hanging items." That sounds like it would have what you need!!! Good luck with it. My mother had one years ago (no hooks, though!!) and I really did like it!!! Vivian **Q: How much weight can this hold? I would like to put a Swiffer Bissel on it. And maybe a featherweight bissell vaccuum.** A: Ive got a swiffer mop with the mop solution hanging on it. A vacuum if its really lightweight might work if its hung very securely with anchors or in a stud in the wall. Most things I have around mine are relatively light weight with the one heavier item. **Q: How wide is it?** A: I have 2 different configurations: one is 16 inches wide, and the other one 17.25 inches wide. Of course you do have to adjust the height and arrangement of your brooms, mops, etc. and hang some up-side down so that the “heads” of each item don’t hit each other. What I like: —It is handy to keep several brooms off the floor instead of the heap they were in before I installed this. —It holds 5 items on poles like brooms, mops, dust mops etc. —It also has 6 fold-down hooks that you can use for things like dustpans. —It comes with a paper template that makes marking the drill-holes easy and convenient. I took a photo to show you than. —It also comes with the required 6 screws, as well as s 6 drywall anchors. —The brooms are held tightly and stay in their slots without slipping down. —The price. I bought mine 4 months ago for $12.99 which is very reasonable. I noticed that it’s now listed for a dollar more—also not a bad price for what you get. What I don’t like: —Although it has 6 fold-down hooks, if you are hanging anything wide on a hook, you need to remove it before you can get to the brooms—that’s not very convenient. The seller shows “skinny” items hanging from those hooks—a small baseball cap and washcloth, but those aren’t realistic items that would hang with a bunch of brooms. I hung two dustpans and two fly-swatters on the hooks—-they completely cover all the items on poles, so I have to remove something from a hook to get to the brooms behind. I took a photo to show you how it looks with all those items hung at the same time. —The movable balls that hold the broom poles by squeezing them, are a little awkward to push the boom into. I usually have to use my free hand to manually bend that movable ball back out of the way, while I press the broom handle into its slot. One thing was my bad—I made the hole for the drywall anchor too large, and so it does not hold the screws as tightly as it should. You have to make the hole just big enough to fit that plastic anchor inside, but not too big. I recommend that you make your hole just a little smaller than the hole in the paper template. Overall, I do like this broom holder, and I would even consider buying another one. But for items that hang on hooks, I would prefer a plain old piece of wood with coat hooks attached to it!
