Excellent Scanner and Outstanding Customer Support
I purchased the MX808S after confirming compatibility with my 2021 Porsche Macan and 2018 GMC Sierra 2500 HD Duramax Diesel. Setup was straightforward, and the scanner is very easy to use. The touchscreen is responsive, the menus are intuitive, and I was able to get up and running quickly. One of my primary goals was to perform the oil service reset on my Porsche Macan after an oil change, and the MX808S handled it without any issues. I also used it on my Duramax to perform a complete health check scan and review system data. The scanner connected quickly and provided detailed information across multiple vehicle systems. What really stood out was the customer support. Before purchasing, I contacted Autel to verify compatibility and specific functions for both vehicles. Their support team was extremely responsive, worked directly with their engineering team to answer my questions, and followed up throughout the entire process. It’s rare to find that level of support today. The combination of functionality, ease of use, and excellent customer service made this a great purchase. The scanner has already helped me perform maintenance tasks myself and has saved me time and money. Based on my experience, I highly recommend the MX808S for DIY mechanics and vehicle enthusiasts looking for a capable diagnostic and service tool without moving into the much higher-priced professional units.

Vw touareg 2011 fixed.
5star. Used for my 2011 vw touareg that locked us out due to a DEF issue. Cleared all the codes and good to go! Expensive but I know the dealership would have charged an arm and a leg. $400.00.

Good value for an easy-to-use tool that's a huge improvement over phone apps/dongles
Just got the Autel MX808S scanner and I’m really happy with it! My buddy had the regular MX808, which was cool, but I needed the EVAP solenoid activation, and the S model does that no problem. It’s way easier to use than those phone apps with a dongle—those can be such a pain. The bidirectional stuff is awesome, lets me test things directly, which is super helpful. Also, the auto-VIN read is a nice touch, saves me some hassle. WiFi for updates, hard-wired for car connection - I purposely wanted that vs bluetooth. IOne year of updated is fine, and the tool will still work after the year. I would only need to update if I purchase a new vehicle which is expected, and acceptable. Btw, the lightning deal made it a ridiculously good bargain. Overall, it’s a solid tool, works great, and I’m stoked with the purchase!

Close to "great" - and Autel CARES and responds!
(Updated from 3 stars to 4 stars based on the feedback I received from Autel Support) It appears the Autel MX808S is a tiny bit rough around the edges from a software usability perspective. From the user's initial registration and configuration of this scantool, the process is needlessly unclear and ambivalent. "Acceptable", but not direct, clear, or consolidated where it could be in some cases. Some functions are mis-categorized in their menus - for example, a "Turbo Actuator Calibration" is a SERVICE function, not a DIAGNOSTIC function. Good luck selecting "Service" from the top-level screen and finding this calibration function! After posting this info I was contacted by Autel, who mentioned that the "Service" functionality is connected "under the covers" to the "Diagnostics" functionality - to which I said, "What USER would care?" Autel Support forwarded my comments to their engineering team for evaluation. The Chrome webbrowser on the MX808 I received was hopelessly outdated and could not easily be updated, if at all. Chrome is part of the Android OS and apparently the version I received was a "wrong version", since it constantly popped error dialogs saying it was out of date. Chrome cannot be updated by the user on the MX808s short of using the Android APK. According to Autel, the "normal way" to update Android (and Chrome) is via the MX808 "Update" function. Chrome "worked" (after Autel released an update to the original s/w version on my MX808) - I stopped getting the error messages. Most frustrating of all is the LARGE number of functions that you drill-down to, select, wait a few seconds - and get a "not supported" error message. This is probably far more common on "older" vehicles. I believed that if Autel tests their software during development, they would KNOW what functions are supported for every year/make/model. Autel Support contacted me to say this is common to scantools because of all the vehicle year/make/model/ECU version variations, and I tend to take their word for it. Shame on vehicle manufacturers. I contacted Autel support via two different support URLs on the Autel website. Inquiries on the first URL went off to the twilight zone, but I got a response the next day via the second URL A nice Autel rep helped me with turbo actuator calibration issues (where, and how to keep the BM system from shutting off the truck while the calibration was running). Helpful, but it took a business day to get the answers I needed - okay for me, who isn't running a shop and has a second vehicle to "get around", maybe not so great for others. The autodiscover VIN etc. feature is nice. REALLY nice. And I I REALLY liked the autoscan of all vehicle systems - I found a number of issues in the Infotainment system ("old" code only), to the HVAC (minor sensor error) and a couple of others. Clear code and retest - sweet! Being able to go down through the list of problems (codes) found and clearing/retesting them is NICE. Overall, a decent tool, close to great. First thing I did when I brought home my new Nissan Frontier was to run a full system scan to see if there were any active or historical codes (the Infotainment code I got back on my previous truck dated to the time of purchase some 10 years ago) - nada. Overall, I'm happy with my MX808s (except now I wish I'd gotten the bluetooth version!) as a user - it's indispensable when it comes to maintaining a vehicle. And very happy with Autel support for contacting me about my review and considering my opinions on how they could make their product even better.

Perfect scan tool
This scan tool covers all the bases for any advanced level troubleshooting. It will connect easily to any vehicle, and show you all the data you could want. It does not do everything that every other scan tool does, but for the money it is essentially the perfect scan tool. Highly recommend for any DIY or professional looking to add capability to their scope of repair.

All that and then some!! MX808S
The MAXICHECK MX808S has been a game changer for me. I am a DIY'er and this has made diagnosing and fixing issues so much easier. The user interface is very easy to use. It also has a ton of features that have cut down on my diagnosis time. I can't express how happy I am with this device not to mention that it did not break the bank for me. Now I realize that this is not your top of the line device but for what I do, this has just about everything that I could need. I do love that it also has 1 year of updates which again, is awesome.

Great scan tool works amazing!
I’ve been using the Autel MaxiSys MS808S for a while now, and I have to say, it’s been a game-changer in my shop. The scanner is fast, easy to navigate, and covers a wide range of vehicles, which is exactly what I need. The bi-directional control and full-system diagnostics help me pinpoint issues quickly, saving both time and frustration. I also appreciate the regular software updates that keep it compatible with newer models. While it doesn’t have advanced programming like the higher-end Autel models, for the price, it’s an excellent tool that delivers reliable performance every time. Definitely a must-have for any serious technician! I’m also a traveller and I went to Trinidad and Tobago that’s located the Caribbean and I bought the Autel Maxisys MSOBD2KIT because a lot of the vehicles in Trinidad are older vehicles and don’t have OBD plug in and I must say it worked wonders for all the vehicles I was not able to scan before! Definitely would recommend it’s a great bang for your buck!

Scan tool is a must for doing your own work
I have an older JDM car and am handy with tools. Had an older scan tool and now upgraded to this one, wish I had done it sooner, it communicates with all modules in the car and tells you any problems. It can also do coding and most importantly for my case IT CAN ADD SPARE KEYS!. Yes there is a subscription for updates but the tool will work after even if no updates are applied, I verified this on youtube. It can also reset and do services like ABS bleeding and parking brake service mode. It lets me work on the car and save the labor costs. Dealer wanted $734.50 CAD for just a key and programming (insane), locksmith wanted over $350 cash for just key, I left and didn't bother with them. For a bad sensor diagnosis and replacement dealer wanted over $1500 on top (rear blind spot sensor behind bumper). Bypassed all of them and their "services" with this tool. I bought blank key online for $16, had it cut for $20, programmed it and the fob myself with this tool. Scanned car determined right rear sensor lost communication, ordered new sensor for 200. I paid 793 total to fix sensor myself and get a spare programmed key. Dealer would have been $2,234!!!! In this economy I will invest in myself and my own tools instead of paying obnoxious prices to people or businesses.
