I was refurbishing a couple of older 'mini' tripods. and needed a new head to convert to AS. On the first, a Slik mini about 30 years old with no workable head, this head was a bit heavy for the tripod; it would work, but the balance was questionable. On the second, an older Velbon mini this head fit like it was meant for the job and is now permanently installed. Works great, I use this tripod with my Nikon 1 compact cameras and it is stable and the ball head allows for easy adjustment. I'm happy. I would recommend this head for consideration for anyone doing what I described. Every refurbish or update project is different. This ball head is smooth, locks tight, and has an rotating, degree marked base. It is quite easy to use.

Every now and then you are fortunate to stumble upon a product that you feel like you are stealing for the price paid. This ball head is one of those products. I needed a sturdy, low profile ball head for my CF Mono Pod. My criteria was compact, very well made with a design that makes for sturdiness and simplicity. I needed it to be responsive to minor changes in ball pressure for precise and predictable following of subjects. I also wanted it to be easy and intuitive to handle and control. A descent price is never a poor attribute for photo equipment. This ball head met all my expectations and not just barely, but surprisingly well. The big surprise was the price ... amazing. Anyone would be hard pressed to better this ball head for anything near the price paid.

I’ve used this only a few times, but it works well. It seems to be well made and sturdy. The only reason that I gave it four stars instead of five is the fact that the screw that attaches the mounting plate to the tripod has wiggled loose a time or two, but I don't doubt I may not be tightening it enough. Just something to think about.

Replaced the original ballhead on my Tarion tripod and this solved its only issue. Amazed for the price how solid and stable it is and would recommend it highly

The quality and function of this ball head are excellent. I was surprised at the level of fit and finish. The adjustments are smooth, and the ball head moves freely, and locks up well in any position. This is a great value, and matches or exceeds the quality of ball heads that cost significantly more.

This is the second Artcise product I have purchased in recent months, following my purchase of an Artcise AS-95C carbon fiber tripod bundle I also purchased on Amazon. This ball head, like the tripod and accessories bundled with it, exude very high quality in design, build, and functionality from every angle. As I recall, the product literature says the name Artcise was chosen to reflect products that exemplify art and precision. This ballhead and the tripod with accessories I mention both earn the company branding. Very impressive, great price, and I highly recommend it.

Used this for my new camera with a 90 times zoom plus digital zoom. This was a lot easier to use and keep my subject framed at almost full zoom. Trying to keep up with the moon at that zoom (it moves fast) is a challenge without a tracker. This ball head made it easier to keep up. Nice and smooth. Very impressed for the price I paid.

This is a decent little economical ball head. The ball had section of it actually works nice and smooth and is easy to lock. The downfall of this product is that the pan function has a screw that allows you to set this pan tension. The unit I received had indentations inside of the friction ring and would stop and not pan and unscrew itself from the tripod. This is clearly not how they intended this to be. I have many other quality ball heads that I use for various things and this one isn't working right. I'm returning it.

Delivery was very fast. The ball head is well made, looks great and seems strong. Its low profile means its much lighter than many others, but with same functionality. Recommended.

This is a great Ballhead that locks tight (even with a 3lbs telephoto lens and camera...another pound or so). I use this on a monopod and I like the fact that the ballhead is actually made from aluminum alloy. I had a very similar ballhead for a similar price and was very surprised to find the ballhead was actually made of plastic. It still locked tight but was not as solid where the Arca Swiss mount attached to the ballhead. This one is perfect. Just remember, the main locking handle can be moved to any position by pulling it out and repositioning if going vertical for example.

It's super stiff and solid and works great for a dslr with a telephoto lens, my only concern is the ball joint is not as smooth as I would like but that being said for the price I would highly recommend.

They have a good amount of weight to them, not worried about putting my expensive camera on this mount.
