I read the other comments but no one has said if it IS definitely microwave & dishwasher safe is it ?

I put it in my dishwasher to clean it. It was fine. I use organic honey and sometimes it crystallizes and I warm it in the microwave just for 20 seconds and it’s fine.

Capacity? Previous answers range from 8oz to 24oz.!! Does anyone actually know?

I gave it as a gift,but from my recollection it's much closer to 8 oz than 24. I'd say at MOST 12 oz. it's a beautiful heavy piece suitable for use on the table. 24 would be way too big for that.

Attn seller: can you please tell us why you say it can't be put in a microwave? will it hurt the jar?

Well, on the Waterford Crystal website it says that Crystal cannot handle shifts in temperature from hot to cold and vice versa. It will crack the crystal glass.

How much honey does this hold?

I am guessing, maybe 12 oz. I love it, and everyone that comes in my kitchen comments on it. Not crazy about the wooden dipper. I replaced it with one with a big comical honey bee on the handle.

The size of the knob on the lid
