CLASSIC
Got this set for Christmas 2015 (that's 5 year old me in the picture). In 2018, my friend brought his large collection of vintage Marbleworks pieces, most of my pieces are with him now, as he moved in 2020. Since I'm moving close to him soon, I might get the pieces back

Sturdy Marble Run Set
I was so happy to be able to gift this Discovery Toys Marbleworks Set to my 5-yr-old grandson! My own son had the original Discovery Toys Marbleworks Set many years ago, and I remembered we got years of play out of it. This set is a sturdy set for little hands to play with as they create their own marble run! It is a quality set, and yes, it does cost a bit more than some of the other marble run kits out there, but it will last a long time! My grandson literally couldn’t stop playing with it! Tip: purchase an extra pack of marbles!

Awesome
These exactly match my 40 year old MarbleWorks set. Both sets have identical dimensions and interoperate perfectly. These are more expensive than other brands but also much better quality.

Promotes creativity and problem solving skills.
My great nephews loved this building set from the moment they opened it! The adults had fun as well!

Chinese manufacturing = Major flaws
I was excited to buy this set for my kids since I had the same one in the 80s.To the leadership of DT Learning Products (in Illinois), I hope you're getting a great deal with your Chinese manufacturing. This set arrived missing a large piece and shows poor size consistency and quality control. As we started to assemble the set, I quickly realized there is no jump piece. That's the best part of the set! It's listed on the part manifest, we have half-circle landing pad, but no jump chute. Swell. As my kids started to build and send the marbles down, I saw the marbles stopping or getting stuck. The spinning wheel part gets hung up and can stop the marble. The feet did not rest evenly on the smooth laminate floor and wobbled. The start gate tipper is warped. The towers didn't seem to result in consistent heights, which affects the ramp angles and slows down the marbles. Overall, the effect to me is that this is a poor quality set. My kids quickly lost interest since the marbles don't descend smoothly or consistently, even sometimes stopping entirely.I thought I was buying a higher quality set at this price. Very disappointed, do NOT recommend.

Marble Works last a life time
I bought Marble Works by Discovery Toys for my kids over 35 years ago. The pieces from that set are still in pretty good shape. Because I now have 19 grandchildren, I felt the need to increase my supply of Marble Works sets, but could not find any. I tried other Marble sets, but they were difficult to set up and many pieces were broken within a year. I am so happy that Discovery Toys decided to manufacture this excellent product again. The purchase is more than well worth the money for looks and durability and is so easy to assemble. Believe me, if you have tried sets from other companies, you will know that nothing compares in quality to Marble Works by Discovery Toys.

Bigger...better and best?
This toy consumes many hours of fun from my just-turned-5 yr old and my just-about-3 yr old although they arent really able to conceive and create a large, complex setup. Its amazing though that a run made of roughly half or a quarter of the size of the picture will entertain them!My biggest criticism is the 'marble elevator'. Its junk. the balls get clogged, the lifters are made of rubber and drop the balls all the time, and its frustrating. If anyone at Discovery toys had done a quality check on this product they would see that 9/10 balls dont make it up the lifter. People, dont spend the money on this addition ala cart!my observations tell me a smaller set for their age group would be just fine. This larger set is nice anyway, especially when parent has a few extra minutes to set up a maze using all the tracks!

Mixed feelings. (with update)
I do love this set, which I bought for my three year old. It's sturdy, and he is able to build it with some slight help from me because it needs more firm pressure than he can provide. Thankfully he's not super interested in rearranging the set. My issue is that one of the pieces arrived broken, and I tried contacting Discovery Toys, and they wont provide me a replacement piece since it was purchased through Amazon. And Amazon doesn't offer to exchange it since it's just fulfilled by Amazon, not sold by. I can return it and try and order a new one, however, we just got the set yesterday and my son is obsessed with it, and he would be so heart broken if I took it away. It is worth that fight in order to replace the start gate? (One of the nubbins that connects the start gate together is missing) I'm not sure yet...I have to think about it. It's truly a shame that I can't get someone to just send me the one piece that we got broken.Update (7/9/2014):I'm happy to say that I've upgraded my review from a 3 to 5 stars. I was contacted by the seller after my purchase to see if I was satisfied. I told them my issue and they, without hesitation, sent me a brand new set out (arrived quickly, two days later). Super happy! I just wish the settings on Amazon was a little more helpful in resolving this type of issue. Oh, and my 3 year old son has been playing with this set daily since we got it 3 weeks ago.
