BLACK GEL STAIN
OMG..... I love this gel stain! I used this for 6 interior doors and 2 built-in desks for a total transformation of our business office. This DIY project took my old shabby looking oak to a new modern look with this amazing black gel stain. It was much thicker than I had imagined, making it ultimately easier to work with, a quart goes a long way and I did find using a rag to apply was the best method for this gel stain. It dried fairly quickly, I applied two coats and the coverage was AMAZING! This was one of a 3 step process that I used to complete my project but this was the major part of the project and the finish look is incredible. I am very please with the outcome and very worth the small investment.

Did a great job on our front door
Drys relatively quickly and covers well. We have no storm door and live in the northeast so our door was faded red. One can was more than enough. Great value and gave the house immediate upgrade in curb appeal. The thick consistency made it easy to apply.

Not as 'black' as it says, but will get there with effort.
Had some difficulty getting the stain to truly blacken a piece I was working on. Eventually, after enough coats, I had the sheen and blackness I desired. I think next time, I'll try ebonizing the wood first. This stuff does dry rock hard, and is impossible to remove without sanding, so in addition to a proper finish coat, it's a durable finish.

Easy to use
I did a light sanding and it turned out great. Matches my other bedroom furniture now.

A little goes a long way!
First time using gel stain here, and I gotta say; it's amazing! Goes on rich and thick with a rag. Only needed a few coats to go completely black! Did this whole desk (2 coats) (3 for the top) with just one 8oz can and still plenty to spare! Highly recommend if you're going black!

Perfect for the money!
Exactly what I needed! Beautiful color and the small can was exactly the amount I needed! Perfect amount for the money! Not drying as quickly as I hoped, but I’ll give it more time.

Not the same thing as traditional stain.
I didn't realize this was gel stain until I opened the can. When applied, it looks like black tar and is difficult to wipe off after the recommend wait time. Instead of highlighting the grain, this turned the wood a dirty grayish blue-green. It isn't truly black. It's more like silk screen ink than wood stain. My mistake for not reading the description thoroughly, but it really doesn't do the same thing as traditional wood stain, though it does stain the wood. Maybe you will find a use for it.

High Quality Stain
I used this to "Ebonize"/Darken an electric guitar fretboard. After 3 coats it's almost completely blacked out, and after curing 48 hours, doesn't rub off with Dunlop cleaner. It's very permanent. I plan to do some other guitars, and for this purpose, one container of this stuff will last you forever \m/

Used it on Guitar Fretboard
I have a Jackson Dinky with an Amaranth fretboard. I'm so pleased with the result i got after staining. The fretboard almost looks like ebony now.

Trop noir, on ne voit plus le grain du bois
Je suis vraiment déçue de ce produit. Je souhaitais une teinture noire qui me permette tout de même de voir le grain du bois et ce n'est pas le cas.
