Summary: Excellent value; removable tip made installation easy. While repositioning the CB in my Jeep, I accidentally twisted the end off my previous antenna cable. I started looking at trusty Amazon for a replacement, and discovered that you can get a cable with the FME connector that's removable. Wow! I thought. This will make my new antenna location much easier to install! Sure enough, since I wanted to route the cable outside the Jeep to the new location just above the driver's side taillight, thanks to the slender tip I was able to thread it through the taillight via a hole I drilled, behind it into the body under the wheel well, out a pre-drilled hole in the wheel well into the cab, up the roll-bar, etc etc etc. (Note: make sure you don't kink or bend the cable as you thread it through your cable path.) Threaded the end back on, hooked up the CB, and my unit works perfectly, after..... Another note: make sure you have a proper ground surface on the antenna mount and on the correct side of the stud. I bought this stud from Amazon, http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0002HRBSU?redirect=true&ref_=cm_cr_ryp_prd_ttl_sol_12 and it worked great, but only after I realized that I needed to strip away paint on the bottom side of the mount. The nylon bushing goes on top of the mount, net the flat washer, next the split washer. The metal stud should make unpainted metal contact to the underside of the mount; if not, you will have crazy high SWR readings. Once that was squared away, the cable could perform excellently as it was designed to. Quality of Materials: * No issues. Cable and sheathing look to be high quality. Quality of Fabrication: * Everything was put together well. Ease of Installation: * No problems. Take your time, don't kink or bend the cable, don't neatly coil the excess, just loop randomly under carpet or up top. Suitability for Purpose: * Once I got the grounding issues resolved, has worked flawlessly. Would be nice if it was black, so that the 8" or so that show outside the vehicle would be a little less conspicuous, but not really a big deal. Packaging/Delivery: * As usual, Prime delivers fast and delivers well. Cable was coiled nicely, so nicely, in fact, I had to stretch it out to work the coil loops out.
