Meets my needs and at a good price
I'm a novice juggler at best -- just starting. That said, I looked over a LOT of options and this set of balls seemed to offer the best quality and juggle-ablity at the best price. I wasn't disappointed when they arrived and I handled them. Nice texture (not slick). Decent weight (not too light), and the size fit my adult male sized hands nicely. Regarding some of the negatives people have posted . . . . These do roll easily, so practice on carpet or grass to minimize chasing dropped balls. And, they do indeed have an odor associated with this poly material. In my opinion, it's not strong and it's not disagreeable - kind of a "new car smell" as much as anything else. Good product, good value.

Fantastic juggling balls, with some work
I ordered a set of these about a year ago when I first started learning to juggle. At first, they were too bouncy and ended up not being a great set to start with. Six months ago I altered these and now they are one of my everyday sets. I drilled a small hole in each ball, filled with sand to approx. 100 grams, used color coordinated hot glue to fill the hole and now I have my own, homemade "Russian" filled juggling balls. They have a very slight wobble but are nice. I still have a set of unchanged balls which are more fun now that my skill has improved. As a side note, these balls are NOT 3 inches diameter, they are 2.5 inches. I will be buying more and I think that they are a great set of juggling balls, altered or as is.

Judging over 30 years...
I've been juggling and going to juggling conventions for nearly 30 years. I usually buy name brand professional gear (dube) and I favor the "bean bag" style balls that are filled with millet seed. I was ready to try something new, replace some of my aging juggling equipment, without breaking the bank. This set is more firm, but gives when squeezed, and reminds me of what a stage juggling ball looks and feels like. It's some type of plastic or rubber, and has a matte finish. It is grippy, not slippery. The size is ideal for the average adult palm size (2.5" is a standard juggling ball size). The weight is nice... light, but heavy enough to land in your hand and not bounce off like a tennis ball might. I like that these, unlike the bean bag style, could be washed. I also love the 3 colors... it's visually fun for me, but also it's great for beginners because you can differentiate between the various balls as you learn a standard cascade and then get into other juggling patterns. If you're worried about the balls getting away from you as you learn to juggle, maybe go with a hacky-sack style ball so they thud and stay put exactly where dropped. But if you can get over that these balls will roll away from you a bit, try them out. Juggling is a workout anyway, what's a few extra steps??!! THIS IS A FANTASTIC VALUE. THESE ARE A GREAT OPTION FOR BEGINNERS. I highly recommend these. I myself will probably purchase a couple more sets.

On the fence for this product? Do yourself a favor and buy it!
New to Juggling? Maybe you're an expert or only have a few years of juggling under your belt? Either way you can't go wrong with these juggling balls. It's time to upgrade from your baseballs, Target starter balls, or even tennis balls filled with sand. Although I am still somewhat of a beginner to juggling, after purchasing this product I was able to learn some medium difficulty tricks such as Mill's Mess and The Crane. Having the opportunity to practice with quality balls will motivate you to try more and more difficult maneuvers. And trust me, the quality of these balls are evident as soon as you touch them. The vinyl gives them a simultaneously smooth and textured feel allowing you to catch and throw them with minimal pressure from your fingers to keep them from flying away. The weight of these balls makes it easier to toss and catch them too, while also making them retain their shape while in your hand. The ability to retain their shape has become more and more important the longer I juggle, and I would have never discovered this until I upgraded to balls of this caliber. Now at some point, every juggler wants to show off in front of others. These balls are great to perform with because they give the spectator something pretty to watch as you go through your routine. The picture shown to the left does little justice to the actual color of these balls; the green and yellow are much darker while the red is just a shade lighter. The only drawback to this item is that because the balls have much less give than a ball made of plastic and sand, so they travel much further when dropped. However, this is great incentive for a new juggler to practice throwing and catching until their form is perfect! Quit debating on whether you need the upgrade and just go ahead and purchase this item. For $10 you can see for yourself if what I'm saying is true, and I assure you that you won't regret your purchase. I hope everyone gets the same enjoyment from these balls as I have, and good luck in mastering all of those tricky moves!

FANTASTIC JUGGLING BALLS! (Don't Buy any Schylling Balls)
If you are looking for beginner to intermediate juggling balls, BUY THESE! You are probably seeing that your only amazon prime options are these or the beanbag ones with only 3 star reviews. I have owned the 4 color stitched bean filled ones and let me tell you these are way better. They don't stink super bad (like Schylling ones do), they don't make your hands feel oily (like the Schylling ones) and they wont bust open after a few drops (a la the shylling balls once again). They are a great size for anyone 8 or older and shorter then ~ 6 ft 4 inch. The balls themselves are slightly squishy and feel kind of rubbery which gives them decent grip for juggling. They bounce a little bit, but not much. I am buying another set of 3 because at only 2 dollars and 60 cents a ball, they are so much less then professional balls which can run 10-15 dollars a ball. I would highly recommend these to anyone who want's to juggle. They came by themselves in a plastic bag with no packaging and little pamphlet on how to juggle a typical 3 ball cascade. If you are still learning however, I would ditch the pamphlet and look up tutorials online - you will find them much more helpful. My ONE CON about these balls, is that they only come in three colors. I'm buying three more, and would like them if they could be blue/orange or something, but other then that these are really top notch.

Lot's of Fun
Great Product....I actually learned how to juggle these three balls, which proves it can be done if I can do it, it's really fun.

They're... different weights??
I tried learning to juggling with these. I'm a beginner juggler, and can't really judge what's helpful or not, but my partner (who juggles) laughed when he tried juggling with them -- said they were big and light and somewhat difficult, and recommended that I try learning with the beanbag balls. So that's fine -- may not be a pick for the very beginner juggler. But much more disconcerting: I swear that these balls weigh different amounts. I thought I was losing it because they seemed so different when apparently they are identical -- but, again, partner confirmed that he too thought they are DEFINITELY not all alike. And not just a little bit. Like when trying to juggle them, you could really tell. I wish I had been able to return these within the window. I did buy a different set of juggling balls. It seemed like juggling balls would be a straightforward purchase, but nope - this was a confusing experience that slightly messed with my head, lol. Not sure if I just got a lemon set, but would not recommend.

Excellent Balls
I'm a beginner. These balls are solid, but not heavy. They land on my palms with a satisfying thwock. They don't bounce much, and they don't roll much, so drops aren't a big annoyance. One caveat: they may be too large for folks with small hands.
