Terrible odor and taste
It smells SO BAD. And tastes awful. This is my first time using it so wondering whether they've gone rancid or something. I asked Grok (xAI) and was reassured that this is a GOOD thing! Here's what it said... "The bad smell and taste from your selenium supplement are pretty common, especially if it's in the form of selenomethionine (the most popular and bioavailable organic form....). Selenomethionine combines selenium with methionine, a sulfur-containing amino acid. Sulfur compounds often produce strong, unpleasant odors—think rotten eggs, garlic, onions, or cruciferous veggies like broccoli. That sulfurous whiff builds up in the bottle and hits you when you open it, and...the taste can be nasty too. It's not a sign that the supplement has gone bad—it's just the nature of that form. Some brands... use processing to minimize the odor (or switch to less smelly alternatives like selenium chelate), which is why not all selenium pills stink equally. Inorganic forms like sodium selenite usually don't have this issue, but they're less well-absorbed by the body." So I guess this stink means it's a good quality supplement. 😄

NO LONGER YEAST FREE.
Blue Bonnet Naturals was a vitamin company I trusted, but unfortunately they appear to have changed their formula or are no longer verifying that their Selenium is yeast free. It's a huge deal for me because my body acts adversely to yeast, which is why I originally chose Blue Bonnet as my brand. They met all of my allergy free requirements and that's very hard if not almost impossible to do. When I received my bottle this month I noticed the updated labeling and upon checking carefully and cross-compairing I found it no longer says it's yeast free on either the front or back label. Maybe it's a misprint or oversight, but it's one I can't afford to chance. I have enjoyed the health I got from these vitamins for the year I took them and they really made a difference, which is why I give them 4 only stars. I have included pictures containing the old bottle (left side) compared with the new (right side) for those needing to know the changes before purchasing for themselves.
