I couldn't be happier with the system & STAS's customer service! First recommendation is if you are going to mount the rails right up against the ceiling, spend the few extra bucks for either the Clip Rail Max or Multi-Rail Max. The extra back rise will make a better looking installation. That being said I used the basic Cliprail and it worked out very well and looks very good. I ordered about 80' of their standard 2-rail packages. When I received them there was a note that there reviewed my overall order and felt I needed some additional parts to have the installation better. They gave me more connection kits at no charge. They were tight. I needed the additional parts. The installation was amazingly easy. I am not handy and it went like a breeze. The ceilings in my condo are not at all even so i "modified" their standard installation method to compensate for my bad ceilings. Of course being an engineer my idea was brilliant! ;-) The problem with the building construction not the rail system. I'm gong to send them a note and some photos showing my recommendation for the modifications for their installation instructions.

I love this system for hanging photos. I used it in a wall I built for a local vendor market and have ordered another one for the wall in my office. It is very easy to install and looks sleek. I like having the ability to change artwork without putting multiple holes in the wall. It also makes getting multiple frames lined up even so easy. I ordered an extra cord and clips for hanging groups of images.

First - build a jig of some sort to ensure all the screws are on the same line. I held the rail against the ceiling, drew a line along the bottom of the rail and put the screws along the line. When I tried to get them all in a line by measuring down from the ceiling there was always one that was off juuuuuust enough that it wouldn't clip in. It took me way too long to think of holding the rail to the ceiling and drawing one long line. Second - if you do need to trim the pieces make sure you have the proper tools to do so. It isn't hard, but the first one I did not use the proper tool and it left black marks and didn't cut smoothly. This is my fault for being lazy and thinking something would be good enough, and not the fault of the product itself, but wanted to share my mistake so you don't make it. Third - I love it! We just redid our walls after removing wallpaper and I didn't want to put a bunch of holes in my new smooth walls. I also have a bunch of photos and prints and wasn't quite sure how they were going to be arranged in the reconfigured room. I've been so happy with how easily I've been able to move things around as I bring things out of storage and have to find a place for everything. I purchased this hanging system from Amazon to try it out and then went to the Stas website and purchased the rest of the pieces for the room directly from them.

Perfect for hanging pictures without extra holes in the wall. Mounted to framework. Now I can move or change or add pictures.

I purchased the STAS system about a month ago and just got around to putting it up. It lived up to all my expectations. The only problem (not really a problem) was to “Cli ck” it in place took a little more oomph than expected. A sharp hit with my hand and it clicked into place. Some folks complain on other sites that the pictures tend to twist to one side or the other. I made sure that the clip was hanging straight before hanging the pictures on the hanger. There is some torque in the line and if you have the clip hanging straight this will not be an issue. This system works best with saw tooth hangers at the top. With a wire the pictures may tilt away from the wall a bit depending on how high up the wire is on the back of your frame. This also was not a problem for me as a slight angle at the top of the picture (away from the wall) helped to cut down on reflections on the glass. I had not realized that the Smartspring hooks did not come with the additional Cobra line that I ordered. I also had an issue with a missing part. STAS shipped me a replacement part AND the Springhooks at no additional shipping charge. For this reason I would order the system directly from STAS as other vendors might not be so forthcoming. A big shout out to Elizabeth Robison with Customer Service ; she was amazing. If I could rate them a “10” out of 10 I would.

We have a small area between a window and a slider that we wanted to hang a number of smaller pictures. We didn't want to just nail them to the wall. We cut a 14" piece of the rail and placed that as close as we could to the ceiling. We hung the 5 pictures on the cord and it looks great. We will be using the remaining parts in other areas in our house because we thing this method of hanging pictures looks great, allows us a lot of flexibility and is easy to install and change at will.

I am hanging a show in a gallery space using this (new to them) hanging system. In some ways it's great, and a lot better than putting holes in a wall. However, some of my work is tilting forward severely, and I will have to remove my D-rings and rewire some of it (and hope that eliminates the problem). There is no information that I can see on the website about how to prepare the artwork to avoid this issue, and customer service suggested some additional items to buy that it is now too late for me to get. (By the way, some of the pieces were framed by an excellent framer, and they are doing the same thing.) I don't know yet what the answer will be, but as far as I can tell, wiring your work with a taut wire as near the top as possible may eliminate the problem. I think the company needs to be more proactive about providing framing advice to customers who purchase this system. It's kind of a pain.

First, this vendor, Shades, is great. Everything was packaged securely, and arrived quickly. I ordered a couple of pieces direct from Stas and they charged more for shipping, took longer, and both packages came in damaged from the US postal service. This system is easy to install, looks great, and alllows flexibility without damaging your walls (except some clumsy scraping). Just strike a level line, locate the studs (I definitely recommend getting the mounting hardware in studs if you’re hanging anything heavy), drill and snap. They are easy to cut to size. My OCD was not even a deterrent. I have already ordered more.

Purchased this was very flimsy and difficult to install The clasp that slides into the bottom channel way does not hold very well in-fact it drags when you move it doesn't exactly make me feel comfortable hanging art from it tbh

Did not meet my needs (my fault) so I tried to return it. I found that I was responsible for the return shipping was to the US which cost $80 cad. As this was roughly the cost of the item. It is sitting wrapped and labeled in my closet.
