I can confirm that this is indeed a smallish sized block of graphite, and not a candy bar.

Not strong enough for carving small models
This brand of graphite isn't suited for small detail carving. It isn't as strong as other brands I've used. I've tossed models 20 feet across concrete without breaking them, but a ring model I made from this cracked with simple handling. Small features I carved came away in little chunks rather than sharp chips and fine powder. I'm giving it 3 stars rather than 1 star because the job I'm using this for is very specific, and I think it will handle more common tasks just fine.
