READ THIS IF UNSURE!
I think its funny that customers state these feel cheap. Well, they are. They are the most minimilist vhf 2 way walkie talkie you can buy that work and function as they should. They dont have the weather station or really anything else to talk about. These are rated <2 watts which makes them a walkie talkie nothing more. As for communication, best on the market. I was getting 3 miles relatively easy which is good for a low powered walkie. Im not sure what people are expecting with walkie talkies but these work exactly like they should without all the other gimmicks a lot of talkies have. It makes it eay to hand a child or an elder a radio and they really cant mess it up. Its perfect. I will say if you dont have radio experience these are perfect. If you are looking for 10, 20 or more miles you need a ham radio and license and so does the person you are talking too. Or you can pay $150 a radio with a yearly subscription and you can talk across country. But you cant add on radios to the Push to Talk so you have to buy a bunch at a time and they will not communicate with any other radios. Baofeng 88st are the best for the price point if you are looking for a standard walkie talkie that can communicate up to a few miles.

Awesome
These radios transmit and recieve very quickly, and the time between hitting the PTT and your voice transmitting is the fastest I've seen. They also turn on pretty quickly. Way better in those aspects than the 450 dollar motorolas we use at work, though those motorolas are far more durable. With that said, I have sat on em, rolled around on em, dropped em numerous times onto concrete (the battery usually falls out but I put a bicycle inner tube ranger band to prevent that), for 12 bucks a piece you really can't go wrong. Realistically the range is around a quarter mile or a little more (out in the country, not straight line of sight), which I would imagine is sufficient for most people. More range would be nice but for the price I can't complain. The audio is very clear up to around a quarter mile, after that it starts to get a fair bit of static and then loses connection altogether. A very predictable usable range after getting used to them. I did get one that doesn't work quite right, it still transmits and receives but it seems like sometimes it doesn't, I just don't use that one. The belt clips are pretty flimsy, as are all baofeng belt clips. So far they have stood up well to some moisture exposure (light rain, extreme humidity, the occasional splash) with no issues. Battery life is pretty decent, I'd say around 2 days constantly on with some use, if they're turned off it'll sit there and stay charged for a pretty long time. Like I have not had one die yet (I have a bunch of these and only 3 really get used), if I turn on one of the others thats been sitting it seems no different than one that just came off the charger. I would also like to note the the audio quality/clarity is far better than that 450 dollar motorola I mentioned earlier, which was a huge surprise. For easy communication around the property or giving directions on machinery or something like that, these things are absolutely awesome amd can not be beat. They also have a little built in flashlight, it isn't very bright but it can be handy at times. It came with 4 radios, 4 chargers with a USB plug, 4 USB to 110v wall adapters (shaped like the Samsung phone wall adapters), 4 wrist lanyards, (maybe 4 neck lanyards, but that may have came with some other radios I got), 4 earpieces that plug into the kenwood style plug, 4 batteries, 4 instruction manuals that I didn't read, and I think that's it. If that's what you're looking for then I'd highly recommend em. Also don't trust any advertising that says something like "2 mile, 5, 10 mile range" etc., those numbers are straight line of sight and are not accurate with any radio ever. With any frs radio you're gonna be lucky to get 1 mile.

Great FRS radios for the price.
If you are strictly using these as FRS radios like it was meant to be then they are great radios, very straight forward no frills 16 channels. The body of the radio is absolutely great for everyday use if you aren’t doing any extreme activities like 4wheeling. The operations of it is easy to use, only two knobs one for volume one for the channels. The sound quality is decent and clear. The battery life on them lasts fairly long. There is an LED light on the radio for a flashlight, I think it’s pretty silly and really useless. The base charger was kinda not great when it came to indicating if the charges is complete or not however the power cord is an ac adapter to USB so you can charge this on an USB outlet. I wish it had some privacy codes to be able to adjust on a front display versus having to use a PC to program the CTSS. but for price and you get four radios, I’d say it’s worth every penny. If you are just using this for a family own store or small shop or just for a family camping trip, this set is one of the best bang for the bucks. But if you have a bigger operation or running a huge security team, these radios are not adequate. The other notable mention is that the radios came fully accessorized, each radio came with the belt clip, lanyard, their own base charger, and earphones, so the value is great. I gave it all the sub categories five stars because the quality it was producing, but overall I gave it a four star based on my opinions with the base charger and the radios not providing a privacy code to change on the fly so they don’t just broadcast with all other FRS radios nearby.

Good sounding audio and range
Our club used 12 of these radios to coordinate parking operations in several lots spread over a mile or more at a weekend fair. The radios had plenty of audio for outdoor use. Transmit audio was crisp and clear. Although the radios are customizable using software, we just used the default settings with no issues. Batteries lasted all day and easily charged overnight for use the next day. Surprisingly good quality for the price!

Cheap but good
These walkie talkies are pretty inexpensive. So what you get is a lot for a relatively small price. These are reliable and great for families, traveling, or any type of situation where you would need a portable radio.
