Yes, this ironing mat met my expectations. I chose the smaller one because I can take it with me wherever I go. I used it and worked extremely well. Easy to lay on the bed once you unpack it, it's thick enough and has the rubber side to set the iron. I really like it. The material is sturdy.

This is a decent ironing mat, and since I've not had any others I can't really compare except to a full sized old ironing board from the 60's that has the foam base and cotton cover that I don't have room for now. This mat seems very heat resistant and the silicone pad for the iron is great, I've had no problems there. It rolls up and ties nicely. Ironing some very lightweight fabric I've noticed that the stitched design in the mat sometimes transfers and prints on the fabric as a " line" of sorts. Also, the surface I have it on lets it scoot around and slide a lot. I'm going to figure out some solutions for that so it's not necessarily worth of star reductions, but it's a bit annoying and something I didn't consider when purchasing. I'm going to look into a different style of ironing pad at some point, but this is as described and worth the price.
