We got rid of our cable box and use YouTube TV which is much, much cheaper. Who views 450 stations anyway?? I ordered this device not knowing if we could use our old TV. Because the ancient TV didn't have an HDMI connector, I purchased the convertor cable (HDMI to RCA Composite Converter Adapter Compatible with Roku Stick - white and red wire for audio and yellow for video) and EVERYTHING WORKS!!! In addition to regular TV, we now have all the Netflix, desertcart, Disney, etc. etc. available because of Roku. Easy and straight forward set up. Can't recommend enough.
