Trying to replace a burnt gfic outlet 20 amps, will 12 awg wire solid copper work with wago connectors extend short wires or is it fire hazard risk?

I use 12 AWG "pigtail" wires on all my 20A and 15A outlets and switches. I connect the short wires to the hot and neutral and ground using the WAGO lever nuts. Makes them easy to remove and replace if needed compared to a twist nut. Plenty of videos out their showing the robustness of WAGO nuts for load carrying.

Can i use these on hard wire? Copper wire for a light switch? (Just discovered electrical tape holding hard work together in my walls...)

If by "hard wire" you mean standard 12 or 14 gauge household wire used to connect outlets and switches - the answer is yes. I have been using Wago connectors for the last seven years with excellent results.

can I use them to connect coper wih aluminum wires ?

WAGO's website specifically shows "Connectable conductor materials - Copper" so they do not have approval for use with aluminum. This was a very good question that I had not thought about since I don't use aluminum wiring. But it is good information that should be on their Amazon page. These WAGO connectors are really good in tight spaces and very easy to operate. But like all connectors they must be in boxes for safety and to meet code.
