What is the range of squares this can make; ie from 1 inch to 27??

I know it can cut at least 20 square

Can you get extensions to be able to make larger squares? Say one meter or more?

You can do end to end with 4 more jig rails. Be sure to buy a set of bushings.

How much higher then the jig can the wood be your routing and how does the router hook to the jig?

The jig is placed on top of the wood surface and then clamped from below with the included clamps (up to 2”) so it really can’t extend above the jig otherwise you will have to drop the router in, which won’t end well for anyone). The router face plate rests onto the jig and is not “attached”. I attached a 1/8” bushing for my straight cut bit and allow for the difference when laying out the cut. Always test on a sample piece first and only take off a little at a time since it is free-floating. There may be a third-party attachment clamp but I am unaware of one.

Will it do juice grooves on cutting boards

Not very well. Holding/clamping the jig to the edge of the board at the desired distance to rout the groove is a challenge. You need a bushing on the router. If you’re not careful the router bit will eat up the edge of the jig. I spent more time trying to set up the jig than actually cutting the grooves.

I had some interestingly-shaped holes to route and this jig helped me cut them to perfection. I suggest that you also get the clamps to hold the jig in place, but ordinary clamps work pretty well. The base of my routers allowed me to utilise the rise of the jig as a perfect boundary stop. Be careful with the screw fasteners as they are quite soft and a philips cross head can damage them quite easily when tightening or loosening the jig. Besides that, I found nothing to complain about (and I have used it a few times I would recommend this product.
