Coco Coir Brick

I regularly keep coco coir on hand. It's a versatile material that is a permanent tool in my houseplant arsenal. I use it as a component in my homemade soil mixes to improve drainage and water retention without allowing the soil to become soggy, which keeps root rot away. It works great, especially with some perlite mixed in. I also use coco coir alone as a substrate for rooting succulents and cacti, along with some leafy houseplants that like to dry in between waterings. The coco coir works great for rooting because it's much lighter and less dense than regular soil mix and therefore it allows more airflow and it dries faster than soil, which keeps the delicate baby roots from getting waterlogged. It also stays just damp enough to encourage new roots to form without being so damp that the stem starts to rot. Regular soil won't allow that! I actually prefer it over rooting cuttings in water because with water roots, they are so delicate that plants can sometimes go into shock when being transplanted into soil after the roots grew in water. This allows the roots to be comfortable in a substrate from the jump, so no shock when replanting! I always keep at least one brick of this. This brand has a wonderful fluffy texture that dries even faster than some other brands I've tried. My plants adore it and the price is great, too!

It expands nicely when soaked in water and makes a soft, moisture-retaining growing medium. Perfect for plants, seedlings, and gardening. Easy to use, clean, and convenient to store. Very happy with the quality and results. Highly recommend! 🌱🌿

This product has been a great addition to my plant care routine for both my indoor and outdoor plants. I've been really happy with the results. My plants seem to be thriving, and taking care of them has become one of my favorite hobbies. I purchased this thinking it would be great for potted plants or even a small gardening area. The bricks did not expand like I thought they would. I had to use two for a large flower pot for gardenia plant. For the price I just should’ve bought a thing of Peat Moss. It was just equivalent to that. live and learn.

Lightweight. easy to use. No nutrients. I put 1 brick in a big bucket and added water till it reached the desired consistency. Wet, but not soaking wet. Then I added about the same amount of compost, 2 cups of perlite, some of my own fertilizer (greensand, bone meal and blood meal), and a fungus for better root growth. I also added worm castings before mixing everything with my gloved hands. This is what I used to transplant my Hostas in. We will see next year if this soil amendment below a large maple made a difference. I love these bricks!

Very nice. A very small chuck filled up two small pots! It feels very soft and absorbs water well. I use this for my cat grass and it came out healthy! Would definitely buy again.

So far, so good, I've had several mushroom grows that went really well, Seems sterile all though I sterilize mine before use anyways, only problem was this last time I was mixing my substrate up and found a piece of cloth, so hopefully it doesn't have a negative affect on the grow, I will update in few months and add another star or take one. So far I do recommend
