I think I prefer the original, but I am a happily going to use my lavender until both jars run out then buy the original again. That's only based on preference. When I wash my face, put on my toner, lotion and then the ointment. I sleep on a silk pillow as well so that the product is removed a bit less while I sleep. When I wake up after having done this routine the night before, my skin looks softer and almost smoother. If it is a day where I don't do this, I wake up looking a bit dry and haggard. It definitely locks in moisture! I've also applied it to a scar on my neck that I have gotten from surgery that took place 1.5 year ago. My scar is fading amazingly and part of that is due to my skin care for it.
