What is the Pocketalker 2.0 used for?

It’s a personal sound amplifier that makes voices and nearby sounds louder and clearer while cutting down background noise. It works well for one-on-one conversations, watching TV, riding in the car, and small group settings.

How long do the batteries last?

Two standard AAA alkaline batteries give up to 105 hours of typical use. You can also use NiMH rechargeables, which last up to 80 hours per charge (the charging kit is sold separately). A flashing green light tells you when the batteries are low.

Is it easy to use for seniors or people who aren’t comfortable with technology?

Yes. It has no apps, pairing, or menus. Large rotary knobs control power/volume, tone, and left/right balance, so you can adjust it by feel.

Can I use my own headphones, or use it with a hearing aid?

Yes, it has a standard 3.5 mm headphone jack that works with most wired earphones and headphones. If you have a telecoil-equipped hearing aid or cochlear implant, you can pair it with an optional Williams AV neckloop and turn on the built-in T-coil.

Can I hear someone who is across the room or across a table?

Yes. Plug the external microphone into the 12-ft extension cord and place it near the person speaking, such as on a table or clipped to their shirt. Their voice comes straight to your ears with less room noise.
