Sub-Zero Air Purification Cartridge

I usually get altenative solution for filters, etc. I used get whatever filter that worked for my previous Whirlpool refrigerator since it was simple mesh looking unit. But after checking out sub zero Air filter, I decided to get genuine. It looks like it has contact point that can communicate with refrigerator unlike others. Obviously it snaped right in the slot and see no issue.

Our home came with a Subzero refrigerator and the branded filter works perfectly. Installation is a snap, wipe off the bottom of the filter then simply raise the cover at the top of the refrigerator and unscrew the old filter, though be sure to have paper towels ready to sop up any water that drips. Screw the new filter in place and pour a few glasses of water to clear any filter debris which may be in the water line. Although the Subzero refrigerator has an indicator symbol that appears when the filter needs to be changed, it is a good idea to put a sticker on the end of the filter with the date it was changed and also add it to your phone's reminder calendar.

The air filter is the authorized and branded one from Sub zero so it is guaranteed by Subzero. It is fairly traded and traded at the same price that it is sold on the Subzero website. The big advantage to buying it from Amazon is that its immediacy of delivery and as a prime member the delivery is free…..time is money and money is money.

This is the absolute worst designed item I've ever purchased in my life. It's supposed to improve the quality of the air in your fridge, but WARNING....it contains neurotoxic MERCURY. And when you receive it, it appears to have bits of broken glass all over the outside, and if you move it, it rattles like everything inside has broken to bits. But supposedly the rattling is a normal part of the design? That isn't all at clear. Of course, all you can think is....has the rattling broken glass that I'm seeing and hearing released toxic MERCURY into my home...onto my hands? Why TF would Subzero design a filter with MERCURY, which also rattles like it's shattered inside, is beyond me. I mean, it's for some UV lamp which I'm sure performs some function, but just make a less effective filter without the MERCURY. I don't know how to dispose of my old one, because it's considered toxic waste and rightly prohibited from municipal trash, and I'm doubly concerned about installing this "broken glass" new one, potentially leaking MERCURY into my fridge...where I keep food....that my family and I plan to consume. Come on, Subzero, this is beyond ridiculous!!!

It's kinda expensive, but the original one, that came with the fridge, lasted for years before it stopped keeping the inside of the fridge odor free.

Appears to be genuine Sub-zero. Same price Just quicker delivery.

The product arrived with broken glass shards throughout. Very disappointing.

Didn’t seem to work after I replaced the product.

Product broken and used. The packaging was torn and obviously previously open. The item is half price at authorized dealers. I don't recommend this product.
