Review: Used these for over ten years - I've had one of these before. Couldn't take it when I moved, but worked great so I bought another one. Use it in the kitchen as a pantry. I'll probably buy decorative shelf paper to dress it up a little on the outside like before. Shelves will bow a little with heavier weights, but I just don't store excessively heavy stuff anywhere but in the bottom. I'm female, 65 yo and put it together in less than a half hour. Everything snaps together so you don't need tools. Really appreciate that. Everything is marked and instructions were easy to follow. Just make sure all your rounded corners are matched with rounded corners and right angles with right angles. And ensure each piece is snapped into the adjoining one. If you have difficulty getting pieces to snap in all the way, I used a hammer wrapped in a towel and gentle taps. For the top piece I laid the cabinet down. Could've used step ladder, too. Had a few weird pieces of plastic sticking out here and there that I suspect were left over from the manufacturing process so I cut them off. First one I had didn't have them. I'd say quality had dropped a wee bit from the one ten or so years ago, but still more than adequate for the price point. I prefer the plastic to metal because I can't stand the sound of metal clanking. Easy to clean and won't rust. Weighs about 40 pounds, delivered at front door of building and I just put box on the side and slid it on the floor to my apartment. I wouldn't recommend for storing tools or cans of paint, but for lighter weight objects, it's fine. When I store food cans, I put them on the sides and put lighter stuff in the middle of the shelf to prevent excessive sagging. Only thing I can say is I wish it came with another shelf. Might figure out a way to make one out of card and foam board. I'd rate it a solid 4-5 so I went with 5. Oh, and it's dark gray, not black and had no odor.

**Q: Why don't they make this in the platinum/ivory/white color any more? Looks like it has been discontinued.**
A: I have some of the "platinum" cabinets I bought several years ago but after 2014, so they weren't that old. I also wanted to match them rather than get another color but couldn't find the "platinum" anywhere.
Finally bought a dark grey, appears this is ONLY color offered now. Not a smart marketing decision! The "platinum" also blends well with other appliances & furniture better than the dark grey & doesn't look as
"industrial". I did have one cabinet next to my white refrigerator as a pantry by itself in the kitchen & as the grey is the odd color of them, that's where it goes & of course I'd prefer the "platinum" in kitchen. WAKE UP, Rubbermaid!!!
Isn't "the customer" ALWAYS right?!?!

**Q: can i store bloom or small vacuum cleaner?**
A: Yes you can; however, you will do so by sacrificing shelves.  They are removable.  Example: I store golf clubs which leaves me with just a couple top shelves.

**Q: How much weight do the shelves hold?**
A: This is the response from Sterilite.

Our suggestion for maximum weight capacity for the shelves is 40 lbs. per shelf for item #0142.  It is best to distribute the weight evenly over the length of the shelf as opposed to keeping heavier objects on the shelf center, which could cause distortion and eventual damage.  Heaviest items stored on the shelving unit should be kept on the bottom shelf or floor of the unit.

**Q: Are the shelf heights adjustable?**
A: The shelf heights are not adjustable, that's why it's so easy to put together. It's a strong plastic. The legs are all the same size and fit into each shelf the same way. I have 3 and they are awesome.

I've had one of these before. Couldn't take it when I moved, but worked great so I bought another one. Use it in the kitchen as a pantry. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Nice Lightweight Storage Cabinet

First, the unit arrived with a couple of missing pieces. Sterilite customer service was stellar in getting the missing parts in the mail quickly. Assembly is straightforward, with very good instructions. There are no nuts/bolts or other metal hardware with the unit; everything snaps into place. That said, using a rubber mallet or hammer with a small piece of wood cuts time and effort by about 50%. I suppose that a couple of people could put this thing up in the advertised 15 minutes, but allow 30 minutes for assembly. Either way, the unit does go together quickly. Being over 6’ tall, I was able to wrestle the upper panels in place fairly easily in a vertical configuration. Someone that’s shorter would probably want to assemble this horizontally with the base against a wall or solid surface. The only caveat there is the a couple of shelves should be installed before Step 9 (door/top install) for support. Anyway, the unit functions very well for light storage. Heavy items are best stored on the floor. The door handles do have a hole for a lock, but that would provide nominal security, as the short hinge pins on the doors can be easily popped open with a bar or large screwdriver. The shelf is good for a patio or deck, and ideal for a screened in porch. The biggest weakness that I can see as to durability would be UV degradation (especially color) under constant full sun exposure. All in, I was impressed enough with the shelf unit at its price point to order a second one.
