I thought Maui Jim sunglasses lens were made of thin glass. Why are these made with plastic?

This is my second pair of Maui Jim sunglasses and neither lens is glass. These are so lightweight, you can't even tell you are wearing glasses. Glass lenses create VERY heavy sunglasses.

Do these fit well on big heads? Also I don’t have a prominent nose bridge so will they not slide down?

I think they probably would fit a large head. They are very light weight and adjust readily.
