The rest of the backpack appears great so far and my dog LOVES to walk around with me (in the house) and be HELD in it. I'm just hoping the backpack area doesn't start to fray where the pull string is when it starts to get a lot of " animal tightening/securing" use. I have 7lb pom. Maybe hot if hiking but great backup in an emergency! **Q: Is this good for rabbits?** A: Depends on the rabbit: is it large 20lb or tiny 5lb rabbit? The lack of ability to keep the rabbit in the bag would pose a problem since the top only drawstrings closed up to a point and is better designed for a dog to sit upright in it. Not lay down in it. A rabbit would either be too big and fall out...or too small and not be able to look out of the bag. I would suggest the cat backpacks that have mesh and zip completely closed so no fear of it jumping out or possibly falling out and running away. There is only a very tiny clip on top for a dog collar to latch onto so the dog doesnt try to jump. However i have had many tiny dogs fall out even when zipped up tight and almost hang themselves when i bend forward or neal....i would only use for dogs...not even a cat would work!
