Plug and play desktop fingerprint login
This is absolutely excellent. I have it connected to my USB hub and when I switch laptops I can still login to anything with the same fingerprint reader, which I have in its ideal position on my desk. Plug and play, so no setup - Windows detected it immediately and I can use it for Windows Hello fingerprint login once registering my fingerprints on each laptop. The device itself seems high quality. It's very small in size but the fingerprint pad itself is relatively big, and it easily identifies my fingers. Very pleased with it.

Works very well and Good quality.
Honestly don't understand the bad reviews of this, feels well made and quite small such a big improvement over the cheaper I had in the past. No issues with use recognises you're print very quickly. Little pricey compared so some but well worth the extra money.

Accurate and consistent
Accurate and consistent. This is a vast improvement over the previous one I used, which was like a usb key with a thin reader. Didn’t always work. This is fast and works every time so far.

Pretty good, a little expensive
Bought alongside the Amazon-recommended #1 Bestseller Arcanite USB Fingerprint reader I'm using on another system. I bought this wired Kensington VeriMark Desktop Fingerprint Reader for an HTPC machine, where I needed to have the reader some distance from the PC where I could easily access it. It's working well, but the activation speed doesn't feel *quite* as fast as that Arcanite, and a 50% the price it feels a little paying extra for the brand name, rather than a more reliable bio-scan. It's working just fine and there's a good chance most of these things use the same reader tech anyway. If you need the wired functionality, it's a valid, if slightly pricey option.

Fast and Secure Fingerprint Reader with a Minor Cable Flaw
TLDR BELOW: This fingerprint reader performs its job flawlessly. It reads fingerprints incredibly quickly, but the key is to keep your finger on the sensor until the recognition is complete, only lifting it afterward. It sounds simple, but it's surprisingly easy to forget during a busy day with lots on your plate. What sets this device apart is its on-device fingerprint recognition, which adds an extra layer of security. By processing the fingerprint data locally, it significantly reduces the risk of your data being intercepted by third parties. This is a big improvement over readers that send raw data to the host OS for processing. Additionally, the indicator lights are bright and easy to see, adding to the overall user-friendly experience. As part of the VeriMark series, this is the only fingerprint reader that's fully compatible with Windows Hello for desktop, which is a major selling point. The only downside, if I can call it that, is the stiff USB cable. A softer, more flexible cable would make the device even better. ---------------------------------------------- Update after 2 months: This fingerprint reader does not do the job properly. Praise for keeping the data on the device while processing, which is commendable however it is nowhere as close to a phone type fingerprint reader. This device fails to perform after a time with the existing fingerprint, why I don't know. Conclusion: It is nowhere as good as a fingerprint reader on a bad phone, even they are better sadly.

Great quality
Smaller footprint than expected - only 30x30mm, easy to set up, great fingerprint registration and recognition. A quality product. Drivers (Win11) installed automatically.

Doesn't work reliably
Easy to install but not able to get it working reliably. It doesn't wake your laptop and very often failed to recognise the fingerprint requiring to log in differently. Windows often even removed the option to log in using fingerprint when these were plugged in. Disappointing.

LOVE IT
Was so easy to set up and works really well with Windows 11! I got a YubiKey-5 and was planning on using that to login to my machine, but it turns out you still have to enter your username and password in addition to the hardware key. So I decided to get a fingerprint scanner that works with Hello! on Windows 11. I heard good things about this one on YouTube so I decided to spend the money. Just got it out of the box, plugged it into one of my USB ports on the back on my system, No drivers to install, Windows took care of it. Went to sign-in options. Set a couple of things like my two index fingers for it to read. Rebooted my machine, saw the log in screen, it said "please touch fingerprint", I touched the sensor....BAM...INSTANTLY LOGGED IN! So cool!!! Nothing but good things to say. Super easy to setup and use! :)

Fonctionne parfaitement !
Ça fait 3 mois que je l'utilise, rien à redire. Je voyais ça plus gros mais c'est tout petit. Ça marche nickel avec Windows ou même les clés de sécurité comme sur BoursoBank.

consistently fast & reliable for Windows Hello functions
Surprised how heavy & solid this little thing is for its small size. The weight makes it sit flat on the surface rather than float about on its cable & it also has an anti slip pad on its undersurface. Like: Went to "setup fingerprint recognition" (for Windows Hello) in Windows 11, & the device was there waiting for selection. Recognition is very fast, faster than any I have experienced on previous laptops or an older USB device. Also using it with Bitwarden & KeepassXC for quick unlock via Win Hello. Microsoft account recognized it for signing in to MS-365 Heavy & small enough to stay put on the desk a LED turns on when it is expecting a print input, flashes red if it doesn't recognise. Don't like: Not much so far Expensive I'm not sure how to take advantage of U2F/FIDO2 for other apps or in browsers. Regrets? Not buying it earlier. Update 2024-04-29: 1: Since the wider re-learning as item 1 below, performance has been rock solid. Fantastic. 2: Item 2 problem below RESOLVED. Uncheck: "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power" found in Windows Device Manager>Biometric Devices>VeriMark DT Fingerprint Key>Properties>Power Management. Update 2023-09-16: 1 I found I was inconsistent in positioning my finger for reading, so I re-learnt my print, using an especially broad finger print area with the learning process. That really helped with improved reliability of recognition. 2 For some reason the driver or something occasionally goes to sleep & it gets unresponsive. I had this problem with a windows hello camera in the past so I assume it is somewhere in windows. Sometimes unplugging, pausing, & plugging back in restores life.
