Primal Strips Meatless Vegan Jerky, Thai Peanut, 1 Ounce (Pack of 24)

Even after so many years, through the boom of hyper-realistic meatless alternatives, this is still the best vegan jerky on the market. It's toothsome but not tough, with a tender chew that satisfies but doesn't destroy my teeth. It's high in protein (naturally), no crazy ingredients, and perfectly packaged in single servings. I always have one in my bag for snacking emergencies since it won't melt like many sweet protein bars or chocolate treats. It's gotten a lot harder to find in stores, and NO ONE carries the Thai peanut anymore, which is my favorite, so thank goodness I can stock up here! Compared to similar snacks, the price is quite reasonable.

I LOVE this jerky. They have many flavors, but this one is my favorite. It has great texture and is chewy, and I really appreciate that they are individually wrapped, which makes it perfect for on-the-go/travel protein. This is a regular part of my diet, and I’m so glad I found it.

I don’t know how many boxes of this vegan jerky I’ve been through since discovering it this year. I initially started with a variety assortment, and now go straight for the Thai peanut flavor. I love how much protein this product packs into a tasty, portable snack. I eat these at home, but they are also perfect to keep at work, or in my purse. I will say that there is some inconsistency between batches. These can vary between soft and bland, to quite chewy and very flavorful and various degrees between. It isn’t a deal breaker for me, but is exciting when I get a “good one”. Kind of like an extra juicy piece of fruit, YKWIM? I can see some people not being a fan if they get a bland box their first order, which is unfortunate.

I love this product! I buy them from PCC all the time. Since it's cheaper on Amazon, I bought a box from here. Turns out, the box I bought from Amazon is terrible. The texture is so tough, it's impossible to bite... The ones I buy from PCC is yummy and normally soft. And, when I tried to return them... It's not eligible for return even for prime member. No, I didn't pass any return window because there is NO return window at all. Very disappointed.

Love these vegan snacks. Thai peanut is the best. Use these for travel and when I don't know if I can find vegan food.

Love these - they are chewy, delicious and satisfying. I find myself grabbing these instead of other snacks. Yummy and addictive.

I'm an avowed omnivore. I love me some jerky, too. Meat in all forms, really. An exchange with an old girlfriend summed it up quite well... "You know, you don't have to eat meat every day," she said. My response was stunned silence. The point? These are darned tasty to a meat-lover like myself. Not just these, but the entire line (that I've tried so far). No, you're not likely to be fooled into thinking it once had parents. The texture of seitan is not all that meat-like, despite what the vegans say (what do THEY know about it, anyway?!). However, it does have a satisfying chew, and unlike real jerky, you could actually eat a couple Primal Strips products and still have some jaw muscle left. Also unlike real jerky, these are moist. Because it's not dehydrated flesh, they're able to have moisture in the flavoring. And they do a pretty good job on the flavoring, too! Bottom line: it ain't meat, but it's amazing for a plant!

I've tried a lot of vegan jerkies, but this brand is the best. The Thai Peanut flavor is the best of the bunch followed by the BBQ. They do have a tendency to be a bit too chewy sometimes, but that's my only criticism.

I've tried all of the Primal Spirit strips, they all taste quite reasonable (as vegan jerky goes!), but the Seitan type is easily the nicest texture. Of the two seitan strips they do, the Thai Peanut is more to my taste than the Teriyaki flavour. Certainly a lot better than the shitake mushroom strips, and more pleasing than the soya (though the soya bars are good).

In my opinion the most tasty of the range.

Good idea, but the flavouring makes them almost inedible unless thoroughly disguised once chopped into some other flavoursome dish. Seriously unpalatable in my opinion, smells bad tastes bad. Good source of protein, but sickly, overstrong, pungent, and my flatmates agree. I love peanuts in food, love thai food, chicken satay, but this doesn't do anything justice.
