The pic is painted, the kit is not but still a basic brick colour so works without paint
Great kit for my N scale layout.

Cute small-town merchant building for N-scale
A great value for N-scale scenery building kits. This is a gift for someone who is building an N-scale train set. Walthers kits are great quality. I like this kit in particular because it is a combination of buildings to start out a small town. The detail is good for the size.

Nice kit but needs painting
Nicely made kit. However, the pieces are unpainted and painting the tiny model can be very difficult to get decent results. Also, applying the decals is not easy as they can be easily damaged.

Looks great, but a lot of work.
I bought the I & II kits, but wasn’t able to start them right away. I think you must be prepared to do some detailed painting to get the desired effect. Assembly isn’t too difficult, but there is quite a bit of very small detail. I have completed about 95% of the kit, and I really like how it looks. This is going to add some very interesting detail to my layout. Can’t say I’m anxious to to start the second kit, but when completed my small town atmosphere will be a focal point.
