Protection+ Brushless Dog Dental Treats - Small Breeds (20 ct)

I used to give my dog Bark Bright dental chews, but I had a couple of issues with the company. First, they provide a tube of "toothpaste" that you have to squirt inside the chew yourself. But the opening in the chew to insert the gel is smaller than the tip of the tube, so you can't really get the gel inside the chew very well. Secondly, when I tried to reorder Bark Bright from Amazon, only the kits were available, not just the chews. I still had a whole extra tube of the gel, and only wanted the chews. So I went to the Bark website to order. Immediately, there's a pop-up that says "Enter your email to get15% off your order." Once I entered my email, it took me to another screen where you ALSO have to put in your phone number to actually get the discount. By then it's too late. If you don't want to provide a phone number, you don't get the discount and they've already got your email. This is a shady business practice in my opinion. I emailed them about it and they replied with some BS answer, like a politician does when he says a bunch of stuff but doesn't really say anything at all. So I looked for a similar product and found ARK Naturals. They sell the chews with the "toothpaste" already in the middle. No more struggling to get the gel into the chew, and hopefully a more ethical company. Plus, the ARK chews are half the price! I got 20 chews for $13. Even though I ordered the Small Breed option, they're easily big enough to cut in half, giving me 40 chews. Contrast that with the Bark Bright product where you get 30 chews for $26. My only issue is that nowhere in the product description on Amazon does it say how many chews are in each bag. It just says, for example, "12 Ounce (Pack of 1)." I knew there couldn't be just one chew per package, so I finally bit the bullet and ordered just to see. I was pleased with the amount of chews per 12 oz package, but they really should include this information in the product description!

Have been giving my dogs Ark Naturals Protection Plus for years. They like the taste & I like that it freshers their breath & keeps teeth clean.

My dog gets one at bedtime. He doesn't ask to be let out of his crate afterward, but he always tries to get us to put him to bed early and these treats are why.

Great. Give to dog every night Mon to Fri before bed. Wish it had 30 in the pack so i can give every night, but only has about 20 in the 12 oz bag. Easy for my dog to chew and great size. Sometimes I will cut into smaller pieces for my senior dog. Dog seems to like it and breath is smelling good and teeth healthy. I also use a liquid teeth cleaner in drinking water.

Not good for small dogs. Too hard for them to benefit from chewing if they can’t chew it.

We got a rescue dog 7 days ago. She had the worst breath, smelled like road kill that sat out in the heat wave for days. Picked these up at the pet store, (she put her nose up at my go to Minties), she loved these. I followed directions, she gets one after breakfast and one after dinner. Five days and her breath is fine. Wow. I do not like how expensive they are, but hey, they work. My rescue is a six year old Pomeranian. She thinks they are great.

My bag had 19 chews. (I didn't know how many it would have.) Recommended: 2 chews/day x 2 dogs, this would last barely 5 days. Just sayin'. Both dogs LOVE these. After snarfing the first one, they begged for more. My 17-lb. terrier had no problem; my 11-lb. Jack Russell struggled a bit--but he's missing 4 teeth. I'm not sure yet how effective these are, but wow, they must taste great. I'm supervising their chewing these; I'm cautious about my Jack Russell's choking. If I give him pieces, he'd likely swallow sans chewing. Yes, I'd buy them again--just not so often.

Our 14-lb Bolognese loves these and, at 5.5 yr old, her teeth are in good shape - the vet says in one year she'll need a cleaning. That's 6.5 years without a cleaning! Her breath doesn't smell. We chop these in half to keep calorie intake down. Best of all, little Bella loves them. Note: It's important to keep the bag sealed after taking one out. When they dry out, Bella says "no thanks".
