26x1.95 Bicycle Solid Wear-Resistant Airless Tire for MTB Road Bike

The tire I received is excellent. It is high in quality; slightly flexible, rubber-like, yet solid. It fits perfectly. If you hate changing flat tires as much as I do, this tire will change your life. To me, it rolls fine on the road, with only a slightly bumpier ride. (Tip: buy a better-padded seat.) I ride often, but not great distances. If you are more of a professional rider, you might prefer air-filled tires. I can't rate this tire on how long it will last, but so far it is still like new. But if you want to try solid tires, brace yourself: airless tires are VERY hard to install on the rim using the manufacturer's instructions or any typical video. After long searching, I found a method that actually DOES work, though it still takes some strength. I installed this tire myself in 20 minutes. To avoid using 2 or 3 people with their arms and curses flying around, the key is to start at one part of the rim, insert the tire there as best you can, then tighten a WIRE TIE around the rim and tire. to hold them together. Then move a few inches in either direction, insert the NEXT part of the tire into the next part of the rim, and wire tie that section also. Continue moving around the rim both directions, and adding more wire ties. As you go, it becomes easy to tighten the original wire ties better. To install this tire took me 11 strong plastic wire tires, each 11 inches long. Once the tire finally snaps into place on the rim, remove the wire ties with a good wire cutter. Of course, as you put more ties on, it becomes harder and harder to stretch the tire. By the time you are 2/3 of the way around the rim, you are probably using one or two strong screwdrivers to help pry the tire near to the gap in the wheel. But you can still continue adding wire ties, and tightening previous ones. Finally, you can pry the last section of tire into place. I used a different brand of airless tire on an older bike, but this Catazer tire is far better engineered. It fits better, and installs easier. This was my experience with a standard wheel for a 26 inch tire. The rim has a typical 20 mm opening.

Excellent tire. Never a flat again. To install this solid tire, leave it coiled just as it was shipped to you. Put the tire in your dishwasher on the high temperature wash cycle. Let the dishwasher run 15 or 25 minutes. Remove the tire and remove the shipping twine holding the tire in its shipping form. The tire will just about straighten itself to installation mode. Now, having the wheel removed from the bike beforehand, add a little grease to the edge of the bike wheel rim. Lay the wheel flat on the ground and get as much of the tire to stay in place on the rim as you can. Use you knee to hold the tire onto the rim while using a LARGE flathead screwdriver to pry the tire farthest awAy from you onto the rim, leave that one in place while using a second LARGE flathead screwdriver to know stretch the remaining portion of the tire upon to the rim. This is not the easiest thing to do but it's absolutely achievable with a little persistence. Tire MUST be warm and a little stretchable. YOU DON'T NEED TO RETURN THIS TIRE YOU NEED A LITTLE MORE PERSISTENCE.

I followed installation instructions exactly. Tires were surprisingly easy to install. First test ride was around the block after the tires were cooled. It was evening and about 80 degrees outside. All seemed well. I rode my bike to work for the first time today. It's about 3:00 miles to work it is sunny and 90 degrees outside. First curve I took hard the tires dislodged off the rims. This very easily could have caused me physical injury or death. This product is not safe. I verified that the size is correct. They were a perfect fit on my rim. They are not suitable for an adult rider trying to ride with traffic. Fail fail fail.

Good tire. Difficult to mount, be sure to get it as hot as you can! The only gripe is have is it rides like you are riding on a bare rim. But, no more flats!!!!!

Bought this for an E-Bike my father rides often. His tire width and profile are too thin and tires pop all the time since pot holes can be harsh. Bought this for that issue, he has a good cushion seat to offset the less forgiving ride but now no flats and he will get to where he is going for a long time. I in fact bought this for a 26 x1.25 width had to get creative but it molded and with a quick ride after getting it on it seated perfectly. I opened it a day or two ahead of attempting to put it on in order to unwind and flatten it out. Its packaged well but figured it being rigid and not in the normal shape and tire size, it might pop out I figured. Worked well ever since he hit another pot hole of course and no flat. Might have to do it to his front tire, we will see. Tough to put on bit worth the hassle instead of a skinny tire tube that can't take a few hits.

No flats is awesome. Super skinny tires versus the 2.25"x26" I replaced kinda sucks. If I used the bike for commuting I'd be pissed, but since I ride only for cardio, they're fine....and no flats is incredible! I ride a cheap used box store 21 speed hard tail generic "mountain bike" around the neighborhood on very flat land. On normal (air+tube) tires, my typical daily ride was about 4.5 miles in 20 mins. This is my casual old-fart ride schedule...just mild cardio for 20 mins. On the same bike with these tires, I had to drop 2 complete rear gears to ride with the same effort! The same 4.5 miles took 30 mins! This did not get any easier over the next 4 weeks. Overall I am fine with that, as now I just ride 3.5 mi for the same 20 mins of cardio, I'm just 2 gears lower so I pedal at the same rate and apply the same pedal effort. I do occasionally go to a store that is a little further. That round trip used to take 40 mins on normal tires. It takes an hour on these solid tires. The difference in rolling resistance is MASSIVE. I also wish they were wider. They did go on fairly easy by myself using just 2 flatblade screwdrivers after leaving the new tires in the 100°F desert sun on a black vehicle hood for about 20 mins to soften them up first. I'll accept riding a little slower and/or at higher effort to ensure it is impossible to get a flat tire after going through 3 tubes, 15 patches, and multiple failed (and successful) roadside patch-n-pump jobs in a bad 2-week period. I was getting flats on the spoke/rim side and they were not pinches. Slime and thorn-resistant stuff does absolutely nothing for inside (spoke nipple) protection. I tried various liners. Maybe I missed a bad spoke or something, but I even used an old tube as 2 additional layers of protection from spoke nipples and still got new holes a few days in a row. I think that's the level of bad luck required to warrant accepting the ridiculous extra high rolling resistance of these solid tires. If you only get a flat every couple months.....you're probably better off not having to drop 2 gears to make the same hills on these things and just stick w/ air. If you get flats often or have high reason to avoid roadside repairs at all costs, then the lower speed, higher effort, and 33% longer commute time you are getting with solid tires (any brand the way I understand it - air is just a superior medium) could be worth it.

I bought this after my son had many issues with popped tires once he put this on he no longer had that issue. Works great, heavy duty material.

I've only got 2 solid rubber tires in my lifetime. That being said, this tire is 100 times better then what I got from Walmart years ago. Easy to put on, just looks very nice and sounds better. When the time comes for me to replace the walmart version, I plan to get 2 more of this tire.
