Folks, you need to use thread tape.
Installed these today with no issues at all. They are well made and easy to work with. I think it's important to mention that you need to use thread tape (or equivalent) on the pieces you connect to the valves. They are tapered fittings and therefore do not use o-rings to seal, they seal against the male threads, and those male threads need to have thread tape (teflon tape, pipe tape, etc) on them or you will not have a good seal. I think most of the negative reviews are from people who's biggest issue is user error. Mine came with the pressure relief valve. Have read some reviews where people say they didn't get that part. Mine was shipped by Handyman Direct. Thank you Handyman Direct!

All works fine now. Thanks
Very well made valve. It arrived within two days. i got the valves installed and turned the water on. I had a leak. took the leaky valve apart on found that the O-Ring was missing. I guess I should have looked at it first. I went to big box store on Sunday and was able to find another O-Ring.All works fine now. Thanks Ernie

I got these as recommended to be able to flush out my tankless hot ...
I got these as recommended to be able to flush out my tankless hot water heater. They were very easy to self install. There is a very small slow drip in the top joint that may have been overtightened. I ended up using the flush connectors for my clothes washing machine, instead of a separate set of connections. I am happy for the adaptation for the washing machine. The cost of these valves was easily offset by the savings of the extra outlet parts.

Why so expensive? I'll tell you.
Seemed like a bad idea to spend ~65 bucks for something I could get at a store for maybe 20 bucks.. well you think that until you get them. If I had a kevlar sock I could kill a bear with these. High quality. Very very robust. Hell you just spent 5 to 9 hundred on the tankless, buy these you'll wish you had.

Expensive, but do you want to risk a failure?
Surprising to me how much these cost, but the price seems to be about the same across manufacturers. Not a piece to save a few bucks on, as the cost of replacement is too high and failure even higher. Note that if you are using this with a pressure relief valve, you will need to get one with a short probe/stem-thing that goes inside the pipe. The ones for sale at my local hardware store all had probes which were too long, like the ones used with a water heater. I was using mine with a tankless heater.

Pressure Relief Valve and/or Plug NOT Included in the "Kit"
Bought this because the manufacturer said that all parts were included. No pressure relief valve. That was not the frustration point. No plug for the hole either! That, plus the fact the product is listed as a "Kit". A kit includes everything when you say if includes everything. Perhaps just change to "Hot and Cold" Valves for Tankless Water Heater. The valves themselves are of very good quality. Had the product listed that the pressure relief valve was not included, the rating would have been a 4. Had the product listed that the pressure relief valve was not included AND a plug for the hole was included, the rating would have been a 5. I am very disappointed in this, and made the purchase because of the Amazon Prime listing. Very disappointed. Edit: Relief valve is supposed to be part of the kit. It is listed in number 3 (as figure 3). Time to call Amazon.

Installed with tankless water heater......
I wanted to be able to easily maintain the new ECO 18 tankless water heater. After doing a little research these valves seemed to be one way to keep the ECO 18 clean and in good shape. My plumber installed them when he installed the tankless water heater. I haven't had to flush the system - I'll be back in 6 mos. to let you know if they work as planned and make my maintenance on the ECO 18 easier.

Had an issue Made several attempts to get a hold of manufacture, they never replied back :(
Hi, I purchased a tankless electric water heater and this product was recommended. Because I knew nothing about how any of this stuff works I had a contractor come out here. He looked at these valves and said they were not a very good design but installed them anyways. The cold water one kept leaking albeit barely. He stopped by three different times and finally explained to me that because of the poor design in the thread being stripped I’ll have to purchase some new ones. The new ones had a much different design(picture attached) but soon as he hooked him up they didn’t leak. Do you know it’s been up and running for three months now I’m happy that I have electric tankless water heater I feel terrible contractor had to come out here three different times. I’m giving this to stars only because I am a person that doesn’t understand how these things work I just know it didn’t work.

A good valve to have when installing a tankless water heater. Easy to install, but a little difficult to tighting the top lock nut enough so that it does not leak.
