Hands down BEST minimalist shoes I’ve ever owned in my life! (For context, I was in the Marine Infantry for five years, and have done high intensity forms of fitness, so I’m experienced in the difference between effective and ineffective footwear). The current arena I’m using these in is Danza Azteca (a traditional dance of Indigenous Mexico) a dance style of prolonged, hours long dance sessions featuring rapid, explosive movements, and these puppies PERFORMED! I also use them for basic weightlifting where they feel absolutely spectacular. FAVORITE THINGS 1. Toe Box: perfect amount of room for my toesies without them feeling like they’re sliding around. 2. True Flat: the drop is quite minimal and your connection to the ground and its nuances is really gratifying. 3. Weight: they’re lightweight as he** and you feel truly barefoot. 4. Sock form: there’s no pesky tongue flopping to one side or the other, just a stitched sock entry that holds to the ankle wonderfully. 5. Laces: very sturdy and not floppy. 6. Aesthetic: the black ones are very slick looking, modern styling without being distracting or cringe 7. Overall fit: mine were correctly sized at 10, didn’t have to go larger or smaller. They hit the foot really nicely without being constricting at all. If you’re on the fence, try them! You won’t regret it!

i had to become a minimalist runner due to L4 L5 disc injuries that doctors told me to stop running on. i needed to do many holistic things to avoid surgery, and one of them was reduce pounding on my back from running, but if i wanted to keep running i'd need to find a way. minimal running (on balls of feet with very little shoe sole and 0mm drop) was a way to reduce the pounding by 30% (all data & my own experience). so rather than run indoors on a treadmill, or pick another exercise, i spent 2-5 years transitioning to being able to be a true minimal runner. i'm not fast, but i can and desire the most minimal shoe i can find. THiS iS iT! while this is a must for me, for those who run on asphalt and/or cement, and thus need a flat soled shoe (vs the corrugated or rumpled sole on most other minimal shoes including the trail designed vapor glove 6)...this is the flattest sole out there that also has all the other needs of a minimal runner: 0 drop/long lasting vibram sole/light curved construction/etc). make no mistake, one needs to have the ability to be a true minimal runner otherwise injuries can result, but if you are up to the task and want the thinnest most flexible and flat soled shoe, this will be it. the thinness of the shoe allows immediate sensing and tactile recognition of landing on the asphalt, which causes the leg & foot, and the runner, to lighten the footfall by feeling the ground with remarkable sensitivity, thus reducing even more the impact. these are my shoes now, and i hope Merrell will keep making them, or versions of them that keep these attributes.

Love these shoes. They fit my feet well and are very comfortable. I think they fit true to size as well. I love this iteration of the Vapor glove shoes because they no longer rip at the seams. This material is very durable. The only issue I’ve had is part of the sole starting to come unglued eventually. But they’ve lasted way longer than any previous version of the vapor glove has for me. If I could have this version of the shoe forever I would be extremely satisfied. They feel almost like I’m not even wearing shoes most of the time, they are so comfortable. I would not hesitate to buy more of these. I actually have two extra pairs now.

These are good for walking around in and feeling the ground beneath you. Just don't make the mistake of playing pickleball in them. They are not meant to be worn in strenuous hard floor sports.

I've been wearing the Merrell mens Vapor Glove 3's for a few years as a common every day shoe. I had finally found a decent shoe after wanting to have the feeling of FiveFingers but also wishing for the possibility of a woman to actually talk to me. I've went through several pairs before they stopped making them. After reading the reviews of the 4's I became discouraged and never even tried them as I babied my last pair of 3s. The bottoms can only get so thin before holes start to form and I was running out of time. Once I saw these I figured I should give them a shot. Ordered the same size I had in the 3's (size 12 US) and returned them instantly since they were too small. I'm not sure if my foot is getting wider, or more likely fatter, or if these are not as "open toe" or wide as the 3's. I had to size up to a 13 just to feel confident enough to want to walk on them outside to give them a real try. So far so good. I've had them for about a week and I am enjoying them. They feel fairly similar to the 3's other than not having a tongue. They are light weight and breathable. Sizing up at least a half size if not a full size would be helpful if you're going from the 3's to the 5's.

I bought these at an amazing cheap price here (around 60 bucks) and they took some time to get here. I've had them for two days. These are my second pair of barefoot shoes; the first ones were from another name-brand and I love them as well, so I can compare. The soles are definitely softer, which I hope won't mean a quick wear-out, but they are easy to walk and no breaking in period. The soles squeak a bit when running over marble or other shiny floors, but this would clear out I guess in a few days. They are easy to put on and off, fit as needed.

I have been a fan of Merrill footwear for a few years now. Wanted to try some lightweight barefoot shoes so Merrell was the obvious choice when I saw they made them. I wear them daily 90 percent of the time for a few weeks now and have been on two river hikes in Zion National park so far. Not a hint of wear or tear on them. Great quality and very comfortable. The only complaint I have is on hot or cold ground your feet feel it quick but that’s not Merrells fault. Just comes with the territory of barefoot minimalist shoes. Just keep that in mind if you purchase these, which you should. I will buying at least one more pair for daily wear and keep the others for hiking and other outdoor activities. Merrell if you ever see this, please don’t change a thing unless it’s in a positive direction or take these off market. I will buy them for a lifetime.

Just found out about this type of shoe recently, and was excited to try them, as I've always preferred walking barefoot when possible. These shoes are about half the price (~$47usd at time of purchase) of other similar brands, and I was pleased with the quality for that price. Of course, being a thinner shoe, this would naturally reduce the manufacturing cost, however, it's clear that Merrell doesn't cut corners with the product they deliver. I've been wearing the shoes for about 2 weeks off and on, and they are holding up well so far. I will update my review at about the 6 month mark.

Mis primeras Merrell minimalistas fueron las Trail Glove 3. Tras éstas, todos los modelos siguientes han sido más estrechos. Resultado: devueltas y localizada otra marca que las fabrica como son los pies realmente, anchos. Una pena porque estéticamente son muy bonitas.

J en suis a ma 3 ème paires, les meilleures chaussures du monde pour moi. Durée de vie 2 ans. Je les ai eu a un bon prix. Elles étaient reconditionnées (retour probablement et non dans le carton d origine).

Estos son zapatos descalzos reales, no he encontrado otros más flexibles y que se adapten así al pie, mala idea ir de hike con ellos las piedras lastiman pero para la ciudad y el estar en casa, no he encontrado nada más cómodo, lastima de la diferencia tan radical de precio entre colores, definitivamente los volveré a comprar

Offers an exceptional minimalist experience with its lightweight design and close-to-the-ground feel. The flexible sole provides excellent ground feedback. I wouldn't say the toe box is wide like altra shoes, but I find it comfortable. They're not narrow. The vapor gloves have very thin soles, if you're looking for minimal shoes for trails and gravel paths then the vapor trails would be more suited with a bit more between the foot and the ground.

This is my 3rd pair of Merrell Glove in 5 years. One of the best 'barefoot' foot wear that has helped me in eliminating pain and inflammation in cross country running.
