I had bought a different brand before that came in a round can, and I actually ended up cutting my hand trying to open it. This feels a lot safer to use. First time trying guava paste. I used it in a cheesecake recipe and it turned out gummy and cloying. I understand it's an ethnic food I have zero experience with. I won't buy it again, as it is wasted on me. It arrived in secure packaging, fresh, is self-stable, all good things. It is sweet. Maybe I just picked the wrong recipe.

I had never had guava paste and was gifted some at Christmas. Different but delicious. I added some to barbecue sauce for chicken and it was great. Cubed some and pushed cubes into bran muffin dough before baking -- FABULOUS! So I was glad to find here and will order again.
