Still works like new after 3+ years
I'm writing this review over 3 years after I purchased this for both my girlfriend and I. We still have it on our iPad to this day and it still looks/feels brand new, so I felt like I HAD to come write a review. Fits perfectly on our iPad, it's not too thick and fits just right. After 3 years it still holds up perfectly and has no issues. We're both students and this case has had monumental impacts on our note taking. It has magnets, it holds the iPad up at multiple angles, and it has a slot for the pencil that holds it in with magnets and charges it. Nothing more you could ask for in a case. It feels sturdy and well-made. If you're a student, or you overall just use your iPad a lot, get it. It's worth the money. You're paying for quality and it will last you a long time. If you get a cheaper phone case, after 3 years, you would have ended up spending the same amount of money as this 1 case on multiple cases instead. Skip that and just get this instead.

An elegant, functional, and well thought out, sturdy case for my iPad Pro 12.9 6th gen 2022.
I have to start off with, that this is the most expensive case I’ve ever bought for my iPad Pro. I usually look for cases in the $20 or under range and skip over any cases that cost above that range. My previous case was a Fintie slim folio case $23, which was a very simple case and not too well thought out, hence wanting to change to a different one. This Zugu slate blue case first caught my eyes with its elegant and good looking design, and I especially love the two tone colors. After looking through the case description, I was sold on this case. This case does add a lot of weight to the my already heavy iPad Pro 12.9. So for those looking for a slim lightweight case, this case isn’t for you. If you made it this far and still sticking around, I will continue with my review below. I was able to install my iPad Pro into this case without too much hassle. It wraps around my iPad Pro 12.9 perfectly, with the cutouts aligning with all the ports and openings. The power button and volume button covers have a very nice clicky feel, as if you were clicking on the actual buttons. My previous Fintie case, the power and volume button covers felt very forced and don’t have a nice feel to it like this Zugu case. The sleep and wake feature works smoothly as expected. The Apple Pencil holder on the side lines up the pencil perfectly with its magnet. The Apple Pencil feels quite secure in place of the holder, but it is dented in at the center of the holder area, so at the same time the holder offers quick easy access to pull out the pencil when I need it. Again, my previous Fintie case, it had a pencil holder area where I need to push the pencil down in place. It did have a small push hole behind the area to push up the pencil for you to pull it out, but I always have to push it a couple of times for the pencil to push out just enough so my fingers can pull it out, which can be a fight most of the time, just to use the pencil. Well thought out design of the Apple Pencil side holder for the Zugu case. This case offers 10 different angles for you to stand up my iPad Pro, which is a lot more than most cases offered. The magnet is strong enough to stand it at all the angles available. It feels very sturdy and I never had to worry that it will fall backwards while working. When I have to fold the front flap flat to the back of the case, the magnet does hold the front flap in place, so it doesn’t fall off to force you to hold the iPad Pro by the right corners. When I need to close my iPad Pro, I simply push the flap from the left towards the right a little to release the front flap from the magnet hold, easy peasy. I had many previous cases that don’t hold the front flap in place when flipping the flap to the back of the case, and it is extremely annoying when a case does that. I did try sticking my iPad Pro on refrigerator and the magnet was strong enough to hold my heavy iPad Pro on it, but it did start to slide down a little bit at a time by the minute, so I wouldn’t be sticking it on the fridge for long period of time. Perhaps those same magnets might work better with lighter iPads like the regular ones or the Air. Anyway, it isn’t a really dealbreaker for me, nor a reason to deduct a star. Some reviewers reported that they were having problems plugging in their USB-C cable through the cutout, but I did not experience it. Plugging in and out of the port through the cutout was smooth and problem-free. I find the stylus pouch holder on the back of the case a nice touch. I know some reviewers questioned the need of having the stylus pouch holder or even called it a stupid unnecessary add on, but I personally love having it and think it was a genius to include it. Not everyone uses the Apple Pencil all the time, and it might not be a good idea to have it constantly being charged at all times. When I’m not using my Apple Pencil and it is fully charged, I like to keep it inside the pouch holder. And also, although the side pencil holder feels very secure while holding the pencil, but it is always hard to say when you’re traveling around and bumping into crowds that it won’t get brushed off. Having the pencil pouch holder in the back can give a peace of mind in those situations. I don’t foresee myself using my iPad Pro that often outside of my office, so it wouldn’t be the reason for me to use the pencil pouch holder. I use it mostly to keep my Apple Pencil from being overcharged. But for me, I like to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it for unforeseen situations. Kudos to Zugu designer whoever thought it would be a nice touch to include it with the case. Like any products, I do think this case does have room for improvement. Personally, I would love a version of this case where the front flap is also trifold like a folio case, instead of just one big flat piece, where I can fold it into a triangle, so I can simply stand my iPad Pro when I have limited desk space. That would surely make this case the absolute perfect case for me. With the simple trifold flap, combined with the sturdy 10 angle adjustment stand, and all the other current features of this case, it will make one heck of a premium case for me to upgrade. This case as it stands is definitely a five stars. But with my suggested addition, it will easily be a 5+ stars for me. I really hope the Zugu designers will consider it for a future version. But currently, an excellent case indeed.

Very Substantial Case
The case is very sturdy and much thicker than my previous Otterbox case. The stand is substantial and it has numerous groves so you will be able to place your stand in any position you could want. The indention for your Apple Pencil is deep so it is more secure than what I have been used to. I really like that. The screen on the iPad is protected because of the material that surrounds it. It’s a good color and I paid extra for that but I really like it. It fits really snug around the iPad and I had a little bit of a struggle to get it in but the protection it affords was well worth the effort. All in all very good case and highly protective. I would buy again and I highly recommend.

Wow! Just Wow!
Ok, let's be honest, the average income person (with a few exceptions) will not want to spend money like this on a cover for their iPad. So, now that I've gotten that out of the way, for those of you who CAN afford it this is what I found. I've tried several different covers here on Amazon Prime for my 6th gen. iPad. None met my expectations. The last brand I purchased didn't work properly for whatever reason and was crazy complicated to put together, taking me an hour because the directions were so tiny and incomplete, leaving me to figure some stuff out on my own. This ZUGU was head and shoulders above all the others I'd tried when it comes to how easy it is to put together. It's really just one piece, in attached sections that fold conveniently. This ZUGU was the only option left for me to try. I didn't want to spend this much but after reading the reviews and thoroughly studying how it worked, I realized it was a good functional design, quality materials and sturdy, providing my iPad with serious protection. Recently I'd been carrying my iPad around w/o a cover and the damned thing is super thin and really has a slippery surface. I was so ready for this and I wasn't disappointed: Starting with the excellent protection box it comes in. Before I opened it, I knew it was going to be good because the sturdy little box oozes "class," and protected the ZUGU cover from potential damage in transit. My iPad fit inside the cover snug and secure in a matter of seconds. Simple directions for use were included. No "assembly" required. Much appreciated. The built in storage space for an Apple pencil/pen holds it securely and it's easily accessible but out of the way and not in danger of getting bumped out. . Yes, the magnets are strong holding the cover shut but if you are going to hang this on a refrigerator, (I probably won't.) I'm assuming that's necessary. I've had other covers whose magnets were too weak. Yes, it's heavier than most (and no, it doesn't have an over the shoulder strap (if that's important to you.) The material feels/looks quality. The sound buttons (up/down vol.) are operated easily through the protective cover. The speakers and all necessary orifices are uncovered but still protected because of the depth of the material surrounding them. I love the subtle red color with the black trim. It's going to stay standing at the angle you have it set at, no matter how hard you tap the screen playing your favorite game. I don't expect to need another cover for the life of this (relatively old) iPad. I tend to be a picky and critical person (I write a lot of reviews) and if I'm not finding anything of significance to criticize that means this is a winner. Buy it. Come on. You can afford it. Perhaps the better consideration is - can you afford NOT to have it? If you can't afford this cover, consider the cost of a new iPad. Hmmm?

Buy it. I know it’s expensive. It’s worth it!
Bottom line is this is the best case I’ve ever bought. I fought hard against spending this much for a case. Bought and returned several others before biting the bullet and getting this one. It’s actually worth the money. It’s very sturdy, but I feel like many of them are. This one is just so much better designed. The angle adjustments have a much larger range than others. The magnet that holds the flappy kickstand part to the cover is nice and strong. I can carry it from one place to another with it at an angle and not have to worry about it coming loose. The case stays firmly closed. There’s even a little recessed part on one edge so you can o-en it without having to pry it open with a fingernail (like I had to on my last one). Buy it. It’s worth it.

The best iPad Pro 12.9 case on the market.
This iPad Pro 12.9 inches case is very usable. This was the only case that met my requirements. It is very steady and flexible. The price is reasonable, and the quality is good. This case is not heavy and it keeps your tablet feeling light, but protected.

It's only my 2nd ZUGU Case, because the first one from 2016 is still nearly perfect
Most of my work with the iPad is digital illustration and photographic editing, so I'm in Procreate, Photoshop, and Lightroom constantly. Nearly all of this work is done while traveling or on locations, so I need something that is primarily functional and protective without being bulky. The styling is a bonus, but you really cannot beat the finish and feel of this case. This is an elite way to carry your iPad Pro. I bought my previous ZUGU case for the first generation of 12.9" iPad Pro. I'd gone through 4-5 other cases and none of them fit my needs. Not only was the finish amazing, it was durable and easily set into a range of positions. Coffee shops, hotel rooms, airplanes, and more are easy to adapt to and the hard cover offers great safety from the rigors of travel. The photos of the darker case show wear after SIX YEARS. These cases are amazing and durable. Since 2016, I've logged thousand of miles and hours with a single ZUGU case. The ONLY reason I bought a new one is because my original iPad finally died. I looked around at other cases, but came back to ZUGU because I trust it. My first case is still in near-perfect condition after almost constant use, being stuffed in backpacks and messenger bags and luggage, set up on dirty picnic tables, and used in dozens of airports. If you have the iPad Pro, also get a camera protector. The basic ones here on Amazon fit really will with this case, and are totally worth it. I also have a glass screen protector and there is no interference at all. One of the more thoughtful updates from the first design is that the cover now nests within the edges of the case. Use the tab to open it up. Artists - this is the case you want. It's solid and will keep your screen safe. Be sure to clean the inside surface carefully to keep out dust and grit (I use a thin screen wipe that I replace every few weeks). Unless you're use to bearing down on your screen while working, ZUGU will hold securely. Aside from industrial applications, professional users should really start here. The case is slender, fits perfectly, looks amazing, and will protect your iPad Pro from the rigors of daily use.

7 stars out of 5! Today is Feb 3rd 2026. I have used this case literally every. single. day. since July of 2021, and only within the last month or so, a few small pieces around the edge of the case have been cracking off. The case is still functioning and protecting my iPad, but I just ordered a replacement today as this one is finally starting to come undone. That is after nearly 5 years of daily use and abuse. I haven’t dropped it from any significant height, but it has been bumped around, stuffed in overfilled backpacks, and opened and closed thousands and thousands of times. The Apple Pencil holders are still perfect, and the hinges on both the cover and the stand are still in like-new condition; no splits, cracks, or peeling of the material (other than what I mentioned above). The case is sleek and not overly bulky, and looks great in either casual or professional settings. The buttons and charging ports work perfectly even after all this time. The case is easy to wipe down and clean. I usually use alcohol wipes to disinfect the surface every so often. Not sure if the manufacturer recommends against that, but it’s been working well for me. No issues with plastic parts becoming sticky over time like most cheap plastic materials. No fading or discoloration of the materials either. This case is hands-down one of the best “bang-for-the-buck” purchases I have made in the last 5 years. I’m pretty sure I paid less for it back in 2021, but if the manufacturer still uses the same “recipe” for the current cases, this updated price is still a value.

Pricey but quality and highly functional
Yes, this is expensive. But! The quality is superb and it has functions I love: two ways to hold your apple pencil, one to charge and one to secure during travel. two ways to hold up the ipad: a range of angles on the table and flat against a fridge. plus, it’s sturdy enough to be propped up safely in portrait mode. Material also doesn’t look like it’s going to flake off in a year.
