Gem for the price
This is a hit with my husband. He loves the mobility of the vacuum tool and is impressed by the mulching fly wheel. It may not save him time, but it picks up the never ending supply of leaves around the pool which means fewer leaves in the pool to clog up the filter. A blower just pushes the leaves into the pool but the vacuum attachment converts it into a walk around vacuum with pretty good suction. It wasn't difficult to put together, but it is a bit heavy to carry for long periods of time. The power cord can be problematic because it can get tangled, caught on something or just gets in the way.The price was a good deal, less than a shop vac or outdoor vacuum. It is a bit noisy, so ear plugs are recommended. But overall he is pleased with the performance and usefulness of this blower/vacuum/mulcher. His new favorite yard tool.

Works Great
I’ve used this so far on 3 different occasions and it’s been amazing. I have oak, maple and god only knows what other trees DUMPING in my back yard.. I mean DUMPING. To the point where you cannot tell there are multi level pavers/rocks and flower beds. The first time I cleaned up the back yard in this house it took 7 days and16 giant yard bags full of leaves- seriously. I got a quote for $700 from a company to remove the leaves, insane. Fast forward 8 months and I discover there’s such a thing as a leaf mulcher/vacuum. I researched many brands, including Bob Villas top rated model which is 3-4 times more money than this one, and every single model has someone in the reviews saying “bag broke”, “thing jams up with sticks” or “awkward to maneuver” leaving me feeling hopeless to find something that would work, but instead of giving up I chose to purchase this model because for the price I figured I would have to be able to get some leaf relief (sorry, had to). Well to my pleasant surprise the thing just EATS leaves, shreds them up nice and tiny and makes me SO HAPPY. The bag has not broken, but I am VERY careful when emptying (anxiety from all the other reviews), it does in fact jam up some times with sticks or really really large aggressive leaves but I just turn it off, jiggle the nozzle and the mess falls out of the tube and I start again- MINOR inconvenience compared to being buried in leaves, and I like the fact that it’s electric, I just use the outdoor extension cord and get to run this baby as long as I want, which if you haven’t realized yet, is a very long time for me/my yard. I’m a 5’5 woman, 36 years old, my back hurts if I do it too long but I genuinely don’t find the task to be too taxing. Maybe because I’m finally winning the war on leaves, idk. If you’re in the market for one of these, buy this one.

It’s black & decker, you get what you pay for…
Exactly what you’ve come to expect from black & decker. Great price, gets the job done. The mulching fiction only works on leaves that have literally fallen from the trees & bushes. Basically it can mulch two baby leaves that are alive, nothing over that.Great blower. So-so vacuum, Crap-tactular mulch-er.It’s black & decker, GE engineering & technology from the 1960s!

I really like this, a few things to note tho
I purchased this for a few reasons, one, I wanted to be able to mulch leaves in my yard as we have many trees, I also have 3 big dogs and finding their ummm "presents" in the yard during fall becomes difficult lol. I don't like bagging leaves so I wanted something that would just mulch the leaves. I also planned to buy a gutter cleaner attachment, as I hate heights lol.I have never had a leaf blower before so I can't compare it to others, but now that I got one, I wish I had had this years ago. I haven't tried this on wet or old leaves but it has been dry here, so leaves have been super dry. It does an AWESOME job blowing the leaves. In minutes I had all the leaves in a pile. I was actually pretty impressed with the suction of it when put into vac mode, in some of the videos it looked like maybe it wasn't all that powerful but yeah...it sucked up leaves no problems, sometimes even very small twigs, and pine needles from a ponderosa pine. However, I have read other reviews say this and other brands don't usually "mulch" very well and I found that to be the case. It DOES shred and break down the leaves really well, and if your goal is to have less to bag, this will do the trick. But if you were wanting to really mulch it down to more of a powder you can sprinkle back onto your lawn this doesn't do that. BUT, it breaks down enough that all I had to do was dump the contents of the bag into a trash can, and then use my string trimmer to break the leaves down more.Yes you will get dusty with this as others have said, even when using the bag but...yard work is dusty dirty business so, I don't personally consider that a big deal.My one gripe is switching it over to vac mode. It is very easy to use and operate however in order to put the tube on for vac function, you have to depress a lever on the bottom of this unit to flap open the cover, and then push in the tubing, lining up the lock tabs. The release tab is kinda stiff so its a bit of a pain, then once you release the cover, its spring loaded so the blower keeps trying to pull away from you while your trying to hold the cover open, and insert the vac tube into the tabs which makes it a bit of a pain trying to hold the unit still, while lining up the tabs. I had to put the blower against a wall, then put my foot up against to brace it, to keep it from pivoting away from me while I put the tube on. Its not a huge deal tho, and definitely not a deal breaker for me.I am 5' tall, 100lb female and I found this to be fairly light weight. I have a medium size yard. Given I'm a bit of a lightweight lol, I was a bit afraid at first to use it on the high setting, but after I got a feel for it, I was able to manage it without a problem. All in all am very happy with purchase. Its so so much easier then raking or sweeping. I have a muscle condition that makes it hard for me to sweep sometimes and we have several trees that drop small berries all over the sidewalk which becomes a slip hazard after awhile, that would normally be a 10-15 min. job for me to clean all the time, this took care of it in about 1-2 min.

Blower ONLY!
I set up the blower to vacuum and mulch. I noticed that it was not vacuuming and some mulched material was coming out of the tube! I looked into the tube and leaves were stuck in it! I turned on the blower and nothing happened in the tube, no suction! With the motor running (not advised) I gently pulled some leaves out and let them back into the tube. There seemed to be a strange vortex in the tube that was blowing into the bag but not sucking the leaves through the mulcher. There was no obstruction in the opening to the bag and with it off the vac was working. Once I put it back on, it stopped up and was not working as it should. Wasted precious time and electricity on something that appears to not work as designed. So disappointed because this is a new device that I only used a few times. The vacuum power is not what it should be.Not recommended!
