Easy to understand display provides charging status, amps, and total kWh. Nice to have accessories too. No adjustments needed to move from my 32 amp Chevy Bolt to my 16 amp Chevy Volt. Review: Helpful Display; Remembers Setting - Now that Tesla, Ford, GM, and other carmakers are including 240V portable chargers with their new Electric Vehicles, I wonder why they don't include a nice one like this. The display is helpful and informative. On the 40A version, the thick and heavy cord makes the charger slightly less portable, but it's great to be able to charge at a full 40A when you have a capable supply circuit. I ordered this for the flexibility to charge at a lower rate, so as not to overload the older wiring in my garage. From reading the description and reviews, I couldn't tell if it had one important feature: the ability to remember the charge current setting after a power failure. I wondered, if I set it to charge at 20A or 24A, would the unit revert to its maximum setting of 40A whenever it was unplugged? Well, no, I'm pleased to report that it does preserve that setting when losing power.

Good and reliable
I have been using this evse for the last 6 months to charge a kia niro ev and now a tesla model y. The best part of this charger is variable amperage which one can set to control the flow of power. Charging indicators are great. It has been very reliable.

Deceptive product
On paper, this charger was a great buy. Unfortunately, I was sent a unit that did not have a 40 A setting and had a ground fault. The seller apologized for โmislabelingโ a lower power model as the 40A unit I purchased and that it was OK to use it with the ground fault. Needless to say, I returned this charger and purchased a charger made in Canada that is high quality and worth the extra $100.

Very good EV charge that can charge 40A
I have been using it for around one month, so far so good. Max. charge current is 40A and normally it 8.5-10 hours to fully charge my Tesla Model 3 long range. I only use Tesla App can control the charging current too that can adjust charging current easily. Will update it later when I have more experience of using it.

Great level 2 charger. ( first review)
I am new to EV Cars and purchased a VW I.D.4. I looked on State of Charge on U Tube and educated myself on EVSE. Based on what I investigated on Chargers this seamed to be a good choice. I have been using this EVSE for about 3 weeks and I have no compliments as it does every thing that it said it would do. Cable thickness is .70 inchs (17.7 mm) plug that I ordered is a 14/50 with a 25 foot cable with a very nice carrying case to put in the trunk. It does have the holder, cable hanger and the charging docking station which i was not expecting. I will write an other review in 6 months time to see if it is going OK. I am adding an other review on the Zencar EVSE. I have had this charger for about a year know and it still is charging the VW I.D.4. The only problem that i am having is that when you put it on timer and have it set to 40 amps, when it starts charging it reverts back to 16 amp. I have tried to contact the manufacturer but there is not way to contact them, as there is no E mail or address for this company. So the next charger I purchase will be a company that i can contact for any problem that I have.

Great flexibility allowing for amperage changes... But...
This charger I specifically purchased to be my one and only travel charger. My goal was to connect to any power source with any amperage and carry numerous adapters to do so. I've found amperage selection is easy and it holds it in memory for the next time you charge. My issue is that this charger is missing the bar just slightly in regards to it's neutral power connection. Well, it doesn't exist, like most EV chargers today. It just uses the two hots and a ground to charge. They state it supports lower voltages and I can confirm this, however, because they are running their neutral on 120v over a hot, many common conversion cables will not work. You'll have to buy an EV specific cable or make one. I feel the company could address this and have logical chip smarts to adapt. So for now, I'll need to create a custom cable of my own. Regarding the actual charging with the unit, it works great. I love having a screen to tell me the details like kw charge speed, kw used, time, current amperage setting, current amperage draw, and charge status (only shows charging and complete, no percentages- that would be a nice feature though). So overall I think the product does the job, and by allowing amperage changes, meeting my needs. But because of this plug situation (no neutral), I have to dock a star. I dock another star due to the quality of the cable connector. It's not the one in the picture for the 14-50 end. It's a cheaper quality one that's not sealed. The cable is loose and able to twist easily because there's no strain protection. I decided to open up the plug and that's when I realized they neglected the neutral connector but also that they didn't bother to put in a bushing and strain protector. The J1772 end though does have strain protection and seems of solid build. There's also a lock hole should you want to lock the charger to the car, which is something I'll be doing. The only other feature I think in the future would be nice is to have it connect to a phone via BT or WiFi. Then you could monitor charge status remotely and even configure settings.
