Beautiful, easy to follow and fun!
I’m absolutely loving this book! So far I’ve finished one cardigan, I’m working on my second sweater and I’m already planning my third. Crochet, y’all - it’s an addiction. Some notes:Pro: the descriptions are fully formed and well explained, even for a beginner crocheter like me.Con: it would be very helpful to have more photos of the fronts and backs of items - the Silent Night Cardigan is a great example. The construction is a bit odd at first, but clearer photos could’ve helped!Pro: all the yarns used are reasonably priced and easily accessible, which I love. That said, she recommends other options on a few projects, in case you don’t want to use her specified yarn! Super helpful.Pro: the SIZING! Y’all, it is so nice to be plus size and not have to worry about a book that stops at L/XL. I’m a solid size 18 - vaguely in the 1X/2X world - and her sizing has been SPOT ON. I’m constantly having to change and adjust sewing patterns, crochet patterns and knit patterns, because people don’t go about a size 14/XL. This book does a great job of listing sizes, measurements, give suggestions (aka “this is meant to be looser”), size suggestions (aka “if you’re taller/shorter, you can add/subtract rows here to make it fit”) and goes up to a 4X/5X! Thank you for doing that, it means a lot to those of us who get forgotten sometimes!!!My final note: I will be making almost every single project from this book. I’m not joking, there are only 2 that I’m so-so on, and even then? I’ll probably make them with an adjustment or two. I work for a yarn company and regularly get boxes of test yarn - now I finally have patterns I’m excited about trying! Can’t tell you how worth it this book is, it was worth every pre-order penny!(Also, she has a ravelry account and it has all of these patterns listed individually - this book is WAY cheaper than buying just 2-3 patterns. It ended up being a great resource for photos though, in case you’re visual like me and need more references!)

Beautiful and easy to follow
I bought both the Kindle ebook and physical copy. Both are easy to read and follow. The ebook is missing some of the fancy fonts and colors from the book, but it's an ebook. You can't expect it to look exactly like the physical book. Other than that, the patterns are easy to follow. Janine has plenty of photos in her book as a guide and she does a thorough job explaining things, so even a beginner can easily follow along. I also love that she included other types of budget-friendly yarn for each of her patterns so that we don't have to use the same exact yarn. She does also mention for readers to be cognizant of the chosen fiber of choice if it's different from the one she used because it can look and feel different once you start creating the garment. Overall, I think the layout of the instructions for each garment is easy on the eyes, which makes it that much easier to follow. The style for each piece really is something that I would love to have in my closet, and the patterns allow for a lot of customizations. If you're looking for modern, chic, and modest crochet patterns that can become staples for your closet, definitely check this book out. If I could make clones of myself to crochet each pattern all at the same time, I would!

Very Nice Colorful Book
The patterns in this book are very easy to follow. There's also a great variety of sweaters to make for multiple size options. Plus the author explains how to measure the correct size needed. This book is well worth the money!

Modern, well-made sweaters, even for 1st time sweater projects
I have really enjoyed this book. I would say I am an intermediate crocheter, but had never worked on any clothing items before. The instructions are very thorough and descriptive, and easy to follow for a beginner like me. I appreciate that the book explains what you are working towards as you go through the pattern - there is plenty of context to help you along and explain the “why” behind each pattern step. The patterns are also great - they really are modern, wearable sweaters like the title says. I finished my first sweater this week, the Vintage Moon turtleneck, and my friends could not believe how fast I completed it and I got soo many complements. I can’t believe I actually made the sweater myself, it looks so good! I’ve started my next project from another author and it’s making me appreciate this one even more - the descriptions and construction methods in this book are so good. If you are thinking of trying to crochet a sweater for the first time, or just want to round out your pattern collection with modern, wearable, well made basics, definitely go for it and order this book

Beautiful But Lacking
The patterns in this book are absolutely stunning! I have several lined up with materials to make for this season and have begun two of the projects. My niece came over for a crafting afternoon and absolutely could not believe these patterns are for crochet instead of knitting because of the beautiful drape and shapes achieved. However, I am not a novice to crocheting garments and still feel some more in depth photos (or even links to external photos and/or videos) could be helpful. I will echo what others have said in hoping for more imagery of the construction of the garments and less styled photos of the completed pieces. Overall, I am enjoying working through the book for the most part. It would just be more enjoyable not to experience confusion every once in a while and have to seek out information from other sources.

This is a treat!
Every pattern in this book is a must have. Most times I buy a book and there are only a couple of patterns I like or maybe half of the patterns I like. I'm glad I found it, had I known I would've purchased this when it first came out. Better late than never 😊Everything is just so pretty. The instructions per pattern are easy to follow. She lists patterns in terms of difficulty as Basic, Easy, and Intermediate. Her patterns will never go out of style. She also sells patterns on Ravelry and Etsy, that's how I found out about this book. This book is truly a treat and a treasure. There are patterns for dresses also😊
