My favorite yard tool!
I have a variety of a lot of palm trees and other prickly plants on my Southern Californian property. I use this thing ALL THE TIME with Milwaukee sawzall pruning blades. My first one, several years old, seems to have disappeared out of my garage near the door where it was setting. Hmmm. Finally gave up looking for it so just bought a new one and it seems as hardy and identical to my first. Hefty but not heavy. I’ve been happily sawing away and it, plus the battery it came with, are performing very well. I also use it to saw wood and pvc irrigation pipes with other blades. I’ve accidentally sawed off nail heads so I know it works well on metal too. The size makes it great to maneuver into tight spaces like my huge bird of paradise plants, hibiscus trees and acacia trees and bushes. FYI my dad bought the Ryobi version and it’s great too but slightly bigger. I prefer as small as possible without losing sawing power and this Bosch accomplishes that. But it all depends whether you’re already committed to another brand’s batteries. If not, I’d choose this one at least for yard work.

Perfect for repairs on the farm.
I live on a 55 acre Almond farm currently and frequently have to repair fences, gates, fallen or overgrown limbs... Really, there are lots of random things I need to address that aren’t within any kind of useful proximity to electrical outlets and usually in remote areas accessible only by foot. This little booger does a phenomenal job for it's size and battery capacity. I can cut thru 5+ T posts no sweat (using a nice blade) on one battery. That's more than enough for a day's work. It cuts most small limbs with ease, 2x4s are even doable. I have a larger reciprocating saw that is more powerful, certainly, but it's big, heavy, and awkward... not something I really liked climbing thru brush, or up into trees with, this tool is much better. Because it's so compact, it’s easy to take anywhere. It fits in gloveboxes, my tool belt pouch, and small toolboxes easily. The batteries are bite-sized too, so extras can be thrown in for bigger jobs. I honestly love the entire line of Bosch 12v stuff. They're powerful enough for most odd jobs, compact, and well made.

Handy and Bosch
It is nice and small fits in one hand and easy to use. It's a Bosch, What more to say! My second one. Firdt one about 6 tears old and the blade pin broke.

Good small/light recip saw
Bought this specifically to cut metal conduit in a confined/overhead space where it is was impossible to easily (or safely) use a full size saw . It performs very well at that, which is what it is designed for, and for that it gets 4.5 stars. Anybody who expects it to tackle the same range of tasks as a full size recip saw is going to be disappointed - I wouldn't use this to do e.g. large scale demo work. Batteries - I've other Bosch tools using the same battery so have a stash of these, hence battery life not a concern. Puzzled by those who find batteries difficult to remove - not a problem I've encountered with any of this range. Ergonomics - pretty good. If what you're cutting is clamped or otherwise firmly attached to something and easily accessible then you can use both hands on the saw. If you've got to use it one-handed for whatever reason then that's perfectly doable, although you may have to spend a minute sorting out the best way to approach the cut and get enough leverage behind the saw.

I already owned the drill driver and impact driver and had been very happy with the easy ergonomics and tight access on those ...
Brought this 12V specifically to cut out a door and window openings through T1-11 siding to make my daughter's cubby house. I already owned the drill driver and impact driver and had been very happy with the easy ergonomics and tight access on those tools. There are a number of great things about this saw. 1.) the carry case. It is a step up from the drill driver case (which is not that practical). Zippered with a handle it now stores the saw, drill driver, impact driver, drill bits and charger. 2.) battery - carries enough charge to get all but the largest job done. Started on 3 bars and had reduced to 2 bars after cutting out door from T1-11 siding. 3.) Power - the sweet spot for using this is product that adds up to 1 inch thick. I have used it on siding, abs pipe, corrugated iron roofing material, trim planks etc. Would I use it to demolish 2x4 window framing that is nailed in? - you could, but that would take some time. Could they improve it? Funnily enough I found holding the tool reversed cutting away from myself gave a great deal of control. This meant the tool could be used to cut 1x3 trim boards more safely than with a skill or table saw. The blade is not centered in the guide so I marked the position on the front and back of the guide to use this as a cross between a jigsaw/skill saw. Would be easy enough to have this done at the factory. The included saws are fairly basic. Pick up some others. A 10 TPI wood blade would be useful. The oscillating tool will be my next Bosch 12V purchase.

Great tool
Lightweight and very efficient and has brushless motor. Sits well in the hand. Very sturdy. It's not the most silent but definitely less louder than i expected. I am using it to cut thick branches while pruning where secateurs are no go. Works with a 12 V battery which is common for many Bosch 12 V battery powered tools. I pretty much like this saw and would recommend it to anyone considering getting one.
