As this is a solie plastic and so is the out port on your equipment I don't know how people can't understand that there would be no way to put a hose clamp (or duct tape on this) and tighten it. So I would say disregard any reviews complaining about fit and more on to others because it fitas fine and works great and I would highly recommend this product. BTW one last though make sure you know your inside diameter of the hose you are reducing to this doesn't fit many shop vacs but fits my grizzly table saw's overhead dust collection hose (it has a 4" port under the blade and a 2.5" hose coming off the blade guard) and this is because many shop vacs are NOT 2.5".
