I had one of these "Damp Chasers" under my piano in Florida and I never had a problem with the wood, soundboard, keys, etc in my piano. Now that I live in NC, where it is also damp, I decided to try one in the master bedroom closet. New construction homes aren't built with a/c vents and intake vents everywhere they should be, so I was concerned about mildew accumulating on shoes, etc. So far, no signs of mold or mildew and our clothes smell fine. We do run the a/c most of the time, but I feel an added level of safety using this Damp Defender. I highly recommend this product.

I knew I had a problem when I discovered mildew all over a pair of leather boots stored inthe mudroom closet. I'd seen information on the Dammp Chaser before and I figured it was time to try it out. I measured the two mudroom closets (the other housed washer and dryer) and ordered one for each. Very simple to screw the two brackets at the baseboard and attach the rod. Each closet has an electrical receptacle already so it was simple as well to just plug in the cord. I leave them plugged in all year round so in the winter it helps to dry out damp shoes and coats. I did not notice any spike in my electric bill so I assume their cost effect was minimal.
