The storage compartment is pretty useless as storage; it is simply a tray because it doesn't have a lid when the pillow is opened. Another slightly annoying thing is that mine is not square so when my Kindle is on it my eyes tell me it is slanted,, but it is not...I do like the fact the material is 'grabby' and I can put my Kindle high on the open cushion and it doesn't slide down.
